Which he did, and I have no issue with that. Very difficult job, and I wouldn't want to do it.

However, pre-match, what screamed across the airwaves was that Surf believes Westley has been an utter disaster and couldn't think of one good word to say about him. Even the RL presenters were shocked by his outburst and were having a good chuckle about it. Steve has even said himself that his comments were a bit OTT.

There is enough negativity around this club without Surf adding fuel to the flames, and he has already said he agrees with me.

I'm not asking for sterile, blind-faith comments, but a bit of balance wouldn't go amiss surely?

Sincere apologies to you Steve if you thought my comments were out of order, but I thought I was fair in my assessment, and from what you've said since you have no complaints. Keep up the good work, although I will miss your summarising on Tuesday as unfortunately I will be in attendance at the game!

This. I too think you speak from the heart. You are the voice of the ordinary supporter and we need more like you on the radio. Them proffesional pundits talk shite half the time. Keep it up surf!

Nobody can ever represent all the fans. Maybe we should ask RL to stop broadcasting anything to do with North End, then a view can not be presented that someone could disagree with. Then there wouldn't be over a hundred posts of banality.

What I want from the commentator and summariser is for them to simply say what they see. Surely that's all anybody listening in want's, honest opinions from those that are there to be transfered through our speakers.

I agree I like listening to other peoples opinions especially biased opinions that makes them look silly on a radio station that is broadcast locally.

It ain't the truth though IT'S HIS OPINION something he will be judged on in the future.
If his past opinions are to be judged personally he talks bollocks it's all me me me sorry Surf you sound like a right arselicker...somebody does you a favour you will do them one.

Don't particularly agree with most of what Steve says but a lot of folk on here getting on the guys back for putting forward his opinion which at the end of the day is what he's on RL for.

Anyone who thinks they can do better you have a go & see if you can do any better.

I think that Steve would be on a hiding to nothing no matter what his opinion was on PNE right now. Fans seem so polarised as far as GW is concerned and the press are eating and drinking every negative comment they can find. I just hope that results improve and we all get together and support the team.
As for his commentary, I think that he does a reasonable job under the circumstances and it takes a lot of guts to go out live on the radio. I couldn't do it because I have developed a temporary tourette style affliction involving insane outbursts whenever I watch North End.

Even after the win you had to point out it was 'players he inherited' who got the points and not his signings.

Well here is a fact for you... it was the players he inherited who got us in this shit long before he arrived!

You actually sounded like one of those who is disappointed when the team does OK because it relieves pressure on the manager. Either give the bloke his chance or do us all a favour and stick to your fans team.

Today the BBC announce that this will be the last year they will cover the Grand national and ascot due to cuts
They are moving up to Madchester as its "cheaper"

And on Radio Lancashire we have a commentator (Surf) who I presume is free

Good bad or indifferent in my cynical mind its just a cheap way to cover a match ? - Why send 2 people when you can pay for one and the other is free

I dont have any issues with Surf but do think the BBC will soon be losing its cutting edge in sports coverage

Thoughts ??
 
Just out of interest, does anyone know how many other team commentaries on Radio Lancs have a fan co-commentating? Is it just us?
 
hi mate Radio lancs are the only local radio station that still employ proffesional summerizars all the others have stoped due to cost cutting by the BBC. Me the Burnkey lad and the blackpool lad just step in to help out if their short. So fair play to lancs for that

. Again sorry about my unbalanced view and the 20 death threats are akin to that. Yet Ironically a guy just said to me, 'about bloody time you told it as it was and I agree with every word you said. I had to laugh.

Anyway the pros will be back on soon and ill get back behind the goals were I belong.

Cheers for that. Obviously I rarely listen to Lasher or Dingle commentary so I wasn't aware if they had fan summarisers.
 
Surf only said what he felt, do you really want sensored opinion? If you want to redress the balance go for it. As for the content of his "rant", I couldn't disagree with any of it, or his comments made on this thread since.

He, like me and many others, would love nothing more than the current regime to succeed but Graham Westley has not done anything to suggest he will progress this club, or have I missed something?
