Has anyone else on here got an EPL or 'second team' they support casually?

Well , due to living here for over 30 years, it's Brighton. I went to the last game at the Goldstone Ground , seen them at "home" in Gillingham, and at the Theatre Of Trees - Withdean , and the Amex. I was always in the away end when North End were down here though. I fear it will be a while before I'll be doing that again.
One of my most “ interesting “ away trips was at the Goldstone Ground in 1977 in the old Division 3….

Brighton were top and North End were 5th….

We took 500 fans on a special train and from the moment we arrived at Hove train station it was lively.

Half way through the first half, the Brighton fans lobbed a very large slab of concrete into the middle of the North End fans ….

We lost the game 2-0 but that was an aside …

After the game there were running battles all the way back to the train station….

The one thing that stands out in my memory was the bright green motorcycles that the police used to try and keep the fans apart.

It was a long long day but I was glad to get home in one piece 😂😂

Slavia Praha,
1st time I watched them was in the mid 90's in the Cup Winners Cup vs Nice.
Terrible match where they drew 0-0, 1st leg was 1-1 so won on away goals,
The ground was a Soviet style oval thing and it was bloody freezing, there was several bonfires on the concrete terraces.

2nd time I saw them was a completely difference ground when Eden Park was being built, another cold night 0-0 and just about the worst coffee I have ever had, too cold for beer.

It took 4 visits before I saw them score, 6-1 against Ceske Budojovice, they had 6 away fans. Eden Park is a nice ground with very good beer.
Managed Slavia on FM26 and definitely look out for them now too! Igoh Ugbo transferred to West Ham for £43m in my save and bankrolled me buying Harrison Armstrong, Grcic & Lorenzo Venturino. Provod and Chytil were both key players even 5 or 6 years into the save.. was suprised to see Ouma at Charlton in real life the other week too

Not a chance, and I find it quite odd why anyone would have an EPL second team unless you are a glory hunter. I don't even bother with MOTD anymore, the only time I watch any EPL games on TV is if it's on in my local on a Sunday and I'm with a couple of my mates, ones a Man United and ones a dipper and I always eagerly cheer on whoever they are playing

When I first met my brother in law he was from Scotland and was a Rangers fan and I had to be polite.
Now, some sixty years later, despite until recently he did a stadium tour, the closest he had been to Old Trafford was the Trafford centre, he is now a Manure fan.
Talk about having to bite your lip for the sake of family unity.

Almost as bad was when doing family history I found that my great grandparents were from the smoke, one from Greenwich and the other from Mile End, so I have probably got loads of Charlton fans and worst still Wet Spam fans in the family.

BUT, only PNE for me. Well England, Lancashire cricket and England cricket, going to need a lie down now after reminding myself of all that.

Apart from the one and only true love that is North End, I used to have a soft spot for Spurs (Ardiles era). Like a few others, I look out for Everton's result for the Moyes link and since we live in Scotland and our joiner plays up front for Annan Athletic, I keep my eye on their results, too. Naturally, any particular opposition on the day to to Man U is wildly cheered on, too. A fine history, and some great teams down the years, but this version is highly unlikeable.

Just North End for me.
I look for results of other clubs but that’s it.
I can understand if some Nobbers take an interest in the club where they live/have lived or have family connections but, in general, most people who have a “second team” have got to that position because in the past they have attached themselves to a club doing well, for example, in the 70s a lot of school mates “supported” Leeds. You won’t find many (any) who have a second team such as Rochdale or Torquay. They just don’t fit the Glory Hunters agenda

I have to admit to having a soft spot for Everton a bit. At school my mate Mick was an Evertonian and so I would go to big games with him. He’d come to Preston games as well. This was in the 1980s and 90s. One weekend I can remember we watched PNE at Brentford on the Saturday then Everton at Chelsea on the Sunday. I was football obsessed and it was a way of seeing better players than was on show at Deepdale.

I am a lifelong Leeds United fan. Born in Leeds, first watched them in early sixties beating the mighty Grimsby Town 3-0 at Elland Road.
However, I've lived near Preston much longer than I lived in Leeds and as I couldn't afford the time or money to go watch LUFC I finally succumbed and went to watch PNE with my mate who is a lifelong fan. I've had a season ticket now for over a quarter of century so I suppose I qualify as a proper fan.
I shouldn't ever have had to watch PNE play LUFC as at the time one was in what I still refer to as division 3 whilst the other was playing champions league football.
Bloody football!!

As an aside, my first job was in the largest city iin England never to have had a football league team.
Answers on a postcard.

Wakefield, something to do with the Rugby?
Other large towns without a pro/league football are Guildford and Gateshead.

I’ve always had a very big soft spot for whoever is playing Man Utd

Me too ... ha ha ha ... I love seeing our old fellow minnows like Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton etc who are doing really well but I've never had a second team .. I wouldn't sleep at night 🙂))))

One season as a Manchester Utd 'follower' in 65/66 then made my debut at Deepdale April 66 with my late brother, that was it , ever since. Denis Law was my favourite as a little lad.
On the piss in Edinburgh in May 83 , vistied Tynecastle and had a soft spot for Hearts since.
Secondary school days everyone had a first division team except me, height of Man City 68-70, then Leeds under Revie..
Detest Liverpool and the 'preston reds ' of the eighties who ran coaches to Shamfield when we were on our arse (84-87).
