Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

I am so enjoying our new manager "bounce" unlike QPR, Coventry, Hull and Oxford, none of these teams has been able to bring in new players (until a few days ago) and have enjoyed much better fortunes with their new managers, we however have yet another manager welded to a defensive setup who takes NO blame at all for only 6 wins in 25 league games, a 24% win ratio is just shite.

Give him a bit of rope Willam. Hands are tied to some extent with the players hes been handed. Think probably best to judge him where we are come August

oh dear yet another happy clapper accepting of any old shite, PH has done nothing much to improve on what Lowe left him, new contracts for Storey and Hughes, no consistency in team selection, no plan B, no real plan, just boring shite about accepting turgid away performances with NO shots on target against a bottom 3 team, losing a 3 goal lead to the bottom team etc etc etc

Hecky isn't the problem. The tools at his disposal are the problem.

Sadly we appear to be just spray painting these tools and pretending they are new ones (by handing out extensions) which will mean it will be really difficult to go anywhere.

Until this changes nothing at pne will change.

I agree he isn't the problem, but by no means is he the solution. A safe pair of hands that will keep us in midtable purgatory. Sure that pleases the management and some sections of the fanbase but I've never felt inspired by his appointment.

We need a different approach in every aspect for us to even come close to achieving any success. Roots and Branches overhaul, unfortunately that's not going to happen anytime soon.

In my opinion, yes, but it's still all too painful to watch us.
Never watched today's game but the stats tells the tale, Tuesday was a poor watch as well.
However we can change a system in a game, there is a thought process during the game, so we can adapt, something we never did under the previous manager.

However, what can he do with a squad that possess, slow plodding players like, Hughes, Lindsay, Whatmough, Holmes, Potts, Ledson, Whiteman, Bowler, Brady, Storey, Bauer, Ledson, Evans and Keane.
That's 14 senior pros, that do not have any pace, guile or creativity, what is the manager supposed to do?

Out of the players I haven't listed, Mads is inconsistent and gives the ball away far too often, Riis has numerous faults, all mentioned on here, Thor.....the jury is out but I think there is a player there. KKH and Greenwood are not ours and will (probably) not be back next season.

Yes we have improved, the squad on the other hand has not.
RIDSDALE OUT!

Well there's 2 players there who have been given extensions!
Hecky ain't said alot wrong in his time at the helm but he might need a little reminder of his " I don't wanna be bored on the touchline" comment.
Well Paul, bored shitless would be the proverbial understatement today!

I would argue we have improved but he still seems to be in “survival mode” while he builds the squad.

Until he feels comfortable we are going to play every away game like we did today. No expansive tactics, safety first.

It’s boring as fuck is the only problem.

Boring? Hecky doesn’t like to be bored on the sidelines…

We have improved, albeit maybe not by as much as most of us hoped, but at least he doesn't talk the shi' ite that the previous incumbent did.

True, I think he's going for a totally new sort of shite:

August 20: "One of the main reasons I go mad at players is when I'm bored on the sideline."
January 18: "Really pleased, from minute one to the end ... I'd love it if that was a benchmark for every single away game between now and the end of the season."

Agree to disagree. IMO he’s a decent manager who needs time to build his own squad.

I mean, defensively I get it.

But no shots on target, and by the looks of things, completely toothless in attack. 4 touches in the opposition box!

I get it's a pretty average squad but still. I hope those words don't come back to repeatedly bite him.

I hope they fuckin do.

If we had won today....

Would this post even exist?

We drew with a good team away from home, still within 10points of the playoffs and we can still finish in the top half with a good run.

Yes we have improved and will continue to improve. Some people really don't understand that we are not a big club, we are not even a big city and our fan base is good but not fantastic.

We do need to improve our marketing and c

Up to a few years ago before the advent of i follow and other means (😉) of watching away matches. a hard fought away draw and a point would have been perfectly acceptable and even applauded.
Back in the day it was only at Home where you expected to both get a result and entertained.
Obviously i'm old school but a point away with a stoic defensive performance is in its way also to be admired!
Although when playing it was either alongside a big Centre half (to take the bruises) or as a defensive midfielder so maybe i have a different perspective.

It started to go wrong for Lowe when his plain-speaking manifesto when he first arrived gradually unravelled into tedious 0-0 displays, which he then defended in defiance of what everybody had just seen with their own eyes.

and here comes another happy clapper, if your aunty had balls she would be your uncle, oh and they were bottom 3, just sacked their manager and we had NO shots on target
