Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

I agree thus far and I’ve always been doubtful about this manager - but I do think we should wait until next season until judging fairly.

If he gives Lindsay another contract however ….
I thought Lindsay to be fair had a decent game

I get what Heckingbottom is trying to do but as I've said in the past, he's working with blunt instruments (as evident today, very blunt!!).

I've cut him a lot of slack and in all honesty, it's going to take a long while so sort this sack of shit squad out but that doesn't mean he should be immune to any criticism (proper criticism, not incoherent jibberish as one bell end keeps posting).

At times I have seen improvement but other times I've just seen us revert to type. I also find it infuriating that some players who offer very little get chance after chance. Doesn't help dishing out new contracts to bang average players either.

I'm probably going off on a tangent here, but I see no desire from the top to change things. I get the impression they are quite happy with the 'woe is me' situation (finances etc). Happy to be proven wrong though and they can do that by bringing a couple more faces through the door.

Yes we’ve obviously improved, by quite a distance IMO. 6 wins, 13 draws and 6 losses, which shows us where the issues lie.

10 clean sheets in 25 games.

We’ve had some good and some bad performances which is to be expected with this squad.

We’re 13th in the table since Hecky came in, which would have us 4 points behind the play offs.

Home form has improved?

Ive given up going its that bloody boring.

I'm not saying it's amazing every game but it's only been one defeat in about four months. Sheff Weds win was excellent over xmas with the form they've been.

Away is poor with no real sign of improving. That dominant 0-0 at Burnley was a bit of an outlier in the season on the road and a very false dawn.

Anything interesting that PH was trying to do was at the away games - and he's apparently now abandoned that and reverted to Lowey's Brand, vanilla flavour.

At home, we grind out the points (or, more often, the point) anyway. To say it's less tedious than Loweball is true, but we're still at the tedious end of the spectrum most of the time.

And if we're waiting for this squad to become "PH's squad", forget it - we're still giving out extensions to Alex Neil players.

eh no, he was shite in Edinburgh where he had some funds to spend and still played his favs and the result was turgid shite and he was sacked within 7 months, I am getting fed up with him not taking any responsibility for only 6 league wins, the only saving grace he has is that he is not a snake-oil salesman.

We would be 13th but it’s 7 points off the top 6 if the season started when Heckingbottom’s first game took place.

My support for Lowe was always from the aspect that a different manager can only do so much to change our fortunes and unless we get very lucky not much will change in the grand scheme of things.

However I think we have improved under PH, it’s still not pretty and the slight change in performances is not going to make a difference to our overall league position which is mid championship.

I think a true judgement on PH can be made at around this stage next season after a full pre season. However I believe mid table will be where we are at again. Not because of PH but because of our recruitment/mentality/philosophy from the top.

I accidentally came across a podcast last night and it really epitomises Preston North End. It was Mick McCarthy talking about one of his teams and i didn’t catch which one, but they’d lost the last 9 games in the PL and started off with 2 defeats in the Championship and had they lost their next game they would have gained the record for most consecutive defeats that was currently held…..by PNE. They won at Preston and after that game someone from Preston told him that they were glad we hadn’t won the game as it would have taken our record off us. McCartney said he didn’t want the record and that we were welcome to keep it. Who in their right fucking mind wants to hang on to a record like that?
