The striker is the only player that can see down the line so it’s on them to know when to make the run. But even if you’re right, it’s on a striker to start using his brains (which I’m not convinced Osmajic has much of). If you’ve got players that are taking too long to play the ball, continuing to make the same offside run is totally pointless because it’s not going to make the pass come any quicker and just turns possession over. So drop back half a yard and test whether you’ve still got the pace (which he clearly did). Or come in and try and lay the ball off to others to break the line, like we did in the first half with Devine and Erabi did exceptionally when he came on.I think Osmajic made good runs all game yesterday, bar a few of the offsides, but like you say, every pass is delayed with this team.
Must be soul destroying as a striker when your service is coming from Storey, Lindsay, McCann and Hughes.
A striker that can only make runs off the shoulder and only be onside if the ball comes when he makes the run, isn’t the sign of a competent striker. At some point Osmajic has to take responsibility for actually leading the line
