The doctor is always in attendence at PNE medicals so what hes saying is that the medical people showed unproffesionilisum or even worse miss led the club by letting a player through a medical when he should not have done so. I think that is libal in a court of law but correct me if im wrong

So why is no one suing? Surely there are implications against the previous chairman to the doctor to the management team. Why are they not collectively getting together and suing. Especially as some lost so much in the share sale they could legally recoup some of those losses!

You are wrong - it is not libel. Negligence, malpractice possibly. However, I suspect the doctor gave him the standard of medical he was asked to give him. If the doctor pointed certain things out and DS/AI chose to take a risk, then the doctor is blameless.

Has every player had a medical? Just saying.

It was just a question mate glad to be told im wrong. So really the club have not done anything wrong with these guys at the medical then if nobody is being sued so the players were fit when the came to the club and only got thier injuiries while they were here. Is that right or are you saying thats not the case just a question like

yeah mate its a full medicl with the doctor in atendence then they go an have x ray and things is a full day and then they wait for the results to come though. Thast what i got told when i asked the question mate

No, what I think is being said is that the medical staff performed their duties properly and pointed out the underlying problems with the players. The club decided to ignore this advice and signed the players anyway.

Didn't we sign Neil Mellor who had injuries on his signing and was unable to play for some time? Or have I dreamt that? Not being sarcastic btw, its a genuine question.

so there saying the club deliberatly signed unfit players phew thats an heavy accusation can't see it myself. We had Nicky Foster once and were desparate to sign him but but had to knock him back because of an injury same with a couple of other players in the pass so your saying the club didn't do that in this case?

so your saying we deliberatly signed players against the doctors and medical people wishes

I am not saying anything of the sort, I wasn't there during the medicals or, when advice was given to the club, so can make no comment. What I am saying is that Neil Mellor signed when he was medically unfit to play for some time is what we were told, surely even you can recall this.

My recollection of the Mellor signing was that it was above board. Was it not openly stated that he was injured but by signing him anyway we potentially had a prem quality player for peanuts.
Of course with hindsight 'prem quality' sounds like a joke.

I never said it was not "above board" I said he was unfit when we signed him. The signing was legal of that there is no doubt, whether it was ethical is something else and I cannot say one or the other because like I said I wasn't there when advice was given nor have I read any medical reports. We have to trust that it was.

What was it that ML said at the forum? Was it not along the lines that certain players (e.g Trotman and Parry) were signed despite their medical problems being known about?

I remember the same mate about NeilMellor but as long as its open and the club and the medical staff are working togther and they say we can wortk with the problem then you all know were you stand as we ddi with neil Mellor. But this sounds like people are saying it was agaisnt the advice of the proffesional medical people that we went ahead with this signing. Surley that is accusing the club of misleaading us or accusing the medical people of not doing their job properly either way their is accusations. I can't see it myself and if people are blaming either body then that is pretty heavy stuff and i aint one of them your honour lol
