Passions are understandably running high at the moment as is always the case on here when the Preston job is up for grabs - the question is, what would the impact be on attendances?

It's a very, very important question and one which might sway the chairman's/owner's choice.

From a personal point of view, I didn't buy a season ticket this year (for the first year in 20) because I knew the way things were going - my non-attendance was, in my own small way, a protest over a terrible manager in Phil Brown, a disgraceful chairman in Maurice Lindsay and the financial stripping down of the club by Trevor Hemmings.

I was right, and I'm glad that I did it.

However, if Billy Davies returns, so will I. It would show a statement of intent - that the chairman/owner is doing his utmost to improve results, and to right what has gone wrong over the past few years.

How will it affect YOUR attendance?

I would still buy a season ticket if they put Deepdale Duck in charge!!

The appointment of BD will be a signal from the owner that he does want to see thisclub succeed results wise, any other appointment will confirm what we already know and further cutbacks and no investment will follow.

I will indeed attend more games if BD is appointed.

I would welcome his return & would carry on attending. Davies might not be liked by many but managers are not meant to be liked. They are in the results business. If he guides PNE to victory & a possible promotion then I will be happy as a pig in pooh.

Darn, I should've added that as an option really, but a great answer and exactly what we're looking for here.

Couldn't agree more plus Davies will have a point to prove. If he gets the job he will "no doubt" be wanting to silence his critics & win over the fans who didn't want him back.

To those who don't want Davies... If he gets appointed and guides us to promotion would it be time to eat humble pie?

But Danny when Phil Brown was appointed just under 12 months ago did you not say we was very lucky to have him at Deepdale?

I'm pretty sure you did. So WAS YOU RIGHT? Or was you wrong? (as usual)

I thought that he was a good appointment, but realised that I was wrong within a few matches.

When did you realise that he was shit?

I thought Brown was a fantastic appointment .
Sadly the evidence week in week proved otherwise .

If Billy Davies returns, I'd get a Season Ticket next season as soon as they made available. A mate of mine who doesn't post on here has only been to 3 games this season. He said if Davies returns he will go on every home game for rest of season. We would also go to Rochdale if appointment was made before then.

I'm already a ST holder for this season, so would continue going regardless as I couldn't just waste that much money over one appointment. However if BD is appointed then I'd definitely get one next season, whereas if Alexander or any other weak candidates are appointed, I'd give it a miss for next season.

DF and PB have tested my resolve of late but I'll support anyone who entertains me with enterprising football.

ill never stop attending but ill know even if things look like there going well Mr unpridictable will throw a spanner in the works, change his mind at the 11th hour or do something completley bizzare.

I also know it wont be long especailly if the results don't go his way that it will be the chairmans fault for moving the goalposts or anybodys elses fault but his own! But it does have some pluses especailly if he brings his cronies back; Ned kelly will be able to give the players tips on how to keep a beautiful garden having spent a year looking after his thanks to us guys.

For me they should never be let anywhere ner a football club again especailly ours. For me he will use us till he feels its right to tell us that its only common courtesy that we allow him to speak to other clubs.

But ill always be there

Steve, as much as I respect your opinion, surely you can't deny that BD did a fantastic job when he was in charge at Preston - the bitterness on display upon his departure surely illustrates that?

As a person I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire, but as a football manager he knows what he's doing.

If nothing else, it would be mighty fine entertainment!!
