Is Lowe evolving?

Is Lowe evolving?

You notice the three posts you quoted me in all came in the same week. I will stand by the fact that any manager who calls out the fans is a twat.

Anyway he has built bridges since that nkw by trying to get the fans on sides more.

He still hasn’t been backed.

Also you don’t need to check in the time. It just seems you go very quiet when we win but as soon as we lost to Stockport you was quick tk remind every one it was 0 wins in 7 but when we win you give him 0 credit. Same last season as well. Making up bull shut rumours to try and turn the fans against him. It’s all just agenda driven nonesense.

At least I have the balls to change my opinion rather than sticking with the same bullshit just because he wears white trainers. 😂😂😂

It was Salford not Stockport

I said I’ll give him till November and hope he succeeds. Seems you are struggling with that?

I’ve not made a single bull shit rumour up.

I don’t get the Lowe bashing to be honest.

- he wears white trainers
- his clothes don’t do him any favours
- he is on sky sports
- Scouse westley

When he first joined, the fanbase was creaming itself .. we’d poached an up and coming young manager from a progressive club, he was passionate and got the fans buzzing…I don’t think he has done much wrong to have fans against him - finished in a respectable league position with what many consider spies poor squad.
In my opinion, I think he is good in the transfer market - he hasn’t made a bad signing yet (some would argue Woodburn but he’s exactly the type of player we should be signing).

When I think of the money other teams spend and have available that we outperform, I think he is doing a great job with what he has.

White trainers and clothes - I could not care less if he rocks up in a mankini on the sidelines if he is doing a good job —- I cannot for the life of me understand this argument about what he wears????
Totally agree with all of this! Some posters get so upset about RL talking about the 'brand' it's pathetic. I couldn't care less, it's results that matter to me not sound bites...

Ledson and even Lowe (quiet subtlety) have alluded to a deviation from the imaginary brand - weren’t we always playing this way? I don’t think 3 league games is a good enough acid test but 7/9 points is a very good start.

Don’t buy into the “working miracles” talk when we are still in August.

Well, this summer's loan moves have been a washout so far.

But the point is, we are now forced to use the loan market, because we lack the basic squad quality we need, and won't go out and buy it. The parallels with the dying days of our last stay in the Championship are obvious, but let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.
Not sure I understand your issues with loan moves?

The goal should be to get into the play offs and to do that we need to improve the quality on the pitch. IMO, the players that will do that are financially out of our reach on a permanent basis, so we’re going to use the loan market to pick up the likes of Sepp, Cannon, Archer and Alvaro.

We're now reliant on them to add squad quality, rather than having the squad quality to begin with, and just sprinkling some extra loans on top for depth.

And for every Cannon, there's a Parrott.

So you’re saying we shouldn’t have signed Cannon, Alvaro, Supp or Archer?

Very strange when we haven’t got the finances to buy that type of quality outright

Scouse Westley? Westley is probably our worst ever manager and was in L1 . Not fit to wash his shell suit!

I can't write my words any simpler - if you still can't understand them, I cannot help.

I wanted Ryan to be our manager and was glad he signed in December 2021. He was a young, up-and-coming manager, and Plymouth had been playing some good football. I was disappointed with the fact his backroom staff didn't follow but hey-ho, that's life.

Ryan came in on a wave of positivity, referring to playing attacking, entertaining football. Season tickets sold like hotcakes and everyone was a happy camper. I think a lot of people who brand others as "anti-Lowe" conveniently ignore the fact that a large proportion of the fanbase were very receptive of his arrival and the comments he made in press conferences. The football that followed wasn't particularly enjoyable to watch, which was a combination of an inexperienced manager, an injury prone squad and a lack of funds.

I don't particularly like Ryan. I think he talks a lot of shite, albeit accepting that most managers also share this trait to an extent, which is problematic if you aren't winning games and / or playing entertaining football. I couldn't give a toss if he wears white trainers, I couldn't give a toss if he goes on Sky Sports, I couldn't give a toss if he does his Klopp tribute act after an away game victory. All I care about is that North End win as many games as possible. I think that's the case for the overwhelming majority of football fans at every level. I don't know whether Ryan is evolving or whether he's just been ground down by the situation at North End, as others before him have, and therefore is less bombastic in his press conferences and interactions with fans and more pragmatic because he's been stung in the past.

This season we have started the season off very well after a concerning pre-season, but ultimately we are only 3 games in to a 46 game season. My concern is not necessarily that Ryan is the problem, but rather come winter we don't have a proper striker, we'll have accrued a few injuries along the way and the long term injured (Riis, Ched & Ramsay) will still be out of contention. None of those issues are the fault of the manager.

I understand and I’ll rephrase my last comment,

What you’re saying is you’d rather we sign players who the management don’t think are good enough, than use the loan system for players the management do want.

He's saying we should sign players to develop and improve our squad long term, rather than keep using those resources on temporary sticking plasters to tread water.

People who judge a manager on the clothes he wear’s are embarrassing. Get a grip!
I’m judging him on a variety of factors, mainly Comms, signings, results and player progression.

However fact he wears casual gear, for me, seems almost to disassociate him from the team.

Ultimately What I think doesn’t matter, so who cares.

And that we should've been doing that the last few years, instead of what we have been doing.
