I've Lost It

I've Lost It

Absolutely my feelings atm....no interest in the club anymore..like your favourite restaurant that has changed ownership and is now rubbish...no interest in season ticket or attending and I've been on since the 70s....
My first game was 1969 and although I still love and care about the club , going to watch them is a massive chore at the moment and in truth, it has been for the last 3 or 4 seasons….

I desperately want us to get the 3 or 4 points needed for safety and then I can enjoy the summer and forget about North End for a while……

It sounds like Deepdale is gonna be pretty empty tomorrow night…

Another nail in the coffin tonight. It's a poor do when you're just willing the season to be over, but I'm already finding myself less and less bothered.

I've been thinking about this for a few days now, but I'm now pretty confident in saying that there is no single element of the club that feels worthy of supporting.

At this point I'm just a supporter of the idea of Preston North End. There's nothing tangible to get behind.

It'll all be over soon, one way or another.

Damning, isn't it?

My flippant remark aside, you hit the nail on the head with:

I was saying to my brother tonight that when we were mid table under Craig Brown at least we had Ricardo Fuller to look forward to every game.

I'm not quite sure what there is to look forward to at the moment. We don't own any exciting players, there's been nothing to indicate a takeover is close and we aren't going to threaten the top six. Deepdale isn't exactly a rocking atmosphere either, so I can't look forward to that.

We can't even 'trust the process':
- We don't have an academy producing players.
- We don't have a clear recruit policy

There's no sense we're just waiting for things to 'click'. Whoever comes in too will have to do a whole new recruitment cycle again with a non existent budget.

Even all the talk about getting rid of Heckingbottom doesn't grab me as I just believe no matter who we appoint (unless they're really special) will just end up in the same place in two years time.

Saturday, half way through the game I suddenly lost it and no idea why.
I suddenly felt sort of calm, no aggression, no fire, no passion, no anger and not even sadness
Just acceptance I suppose. I've supported North End since the very early 1960's
Always passionate, ranting and raving at poor results and performances, cheering like mad at goals and victories

Right now I have no real interest, you can call me a shit fan if you like, but I never have been, I enjoyed Bristol City away, I even took my wife.
Wrexham was poor and a hard ride home on a train full of Wrexham fans but that's fooball.
Ups and downs, good days and bad days but somehow, and I don't know how, Saturday has changed me into someone I don't recognise.
Season ticket holder for many years but I just know I won't be going on Friday, I'm not even sure it I'll tune in to watch it on telly.
My intrest has just dissapeared and right now I don't seem that bothered. I hope it returns, maybe a decent performance/result on Friday will rekindle the embers of a sadly reduced fire for the team I've followed for 64 years.

Have you found it yet? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. This football club is now nothing more to me than a constant source of frustration, disappointment and depression. I want it out of my life.
I genuinely fear for the summer's season ticket sales after another year of this shit. They could knock another £100 off and the product still wouldn't be worth it.

I imagine plenty of season ticket holders will be watching on IPTV instead for these remaining games.

Mine has stayed in my wallet since 20th Jan.

Not to worry. The Q for the half time pies will be all that shorter.

Went to bed early. Just woke up. Seen score and comments and no surprises. The club is in free fall again, after xmas we fall apart year on year.
Not going on again this season and until some real positives are announced will remain away after 50 odd years

I'm usually very vocal, get behind the team, join in the chants etc. In fact I think I'm one of the few in the middle of the Kelly who keeps the chants going and helps it transfer across the stand. I'm 58 and been watching them for nearly 50 years.

Three home games ago at half time, I checked out mentally. I decided not to bother. I feel better for it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still sat there and I'll be sat there next week but I'll go because I get to see my folks and some of my mates. The match itself is largely irrelevant now.

Last night I received messages from people watching the game on TV, at the game etc. I was in a pub perfectly happy. Didn't give a shit. Not quite sure how I reached this point but that's where I'm at. I've checked out of the emotional investment. I'm sure a lot of others feel the same.

I wish that I could check out emotionally ….

I’m sat here now fretting about where our next point is coming from.

I keep checking all the other teams fixtures and hoping that they are gonna drop some points.

It’s completely dominating my thoughts and probably will do for the next 6/7 weeks…

I will be glad when it is all over …. 3 months off to forget all about North End.

I’m not sure where my head is about a ST , I suspect that I won’t renew but who knows with this damn football club of ours , it’s like a drug that has got us hooked.

A drug with no highs that makes you wish you were at work instead of taking it. I don't think it'd be a best seller in Callon.

I'm certain they will Ando and as bad as we are at the moment we'll surely pick up the odd point or two over the remaining 9 games. It's next season i'm already concerned about...

Like someone else has said would you pay to go to a dated cinema with uncomfortable seats and crap sound and picture quality to watch the same mediocre film every week, sometimes twice a week, where once a year they change a couple of the actors and tweak the storyline slightly but its the same ending every time ?

We managed 6 points in our final 9 games of last season.
I would be amazed if we manage that this season with our current awful form, lack of fight and direction.
If we manage three draws out of these final 9 games with the present lackluster performances I think we will be very lucky.🤔🥴
