Joe Garner Signs (Confirmed)

Joe Garner Signs (Confirmed)

Disagree with Trundle - hardly had a kick yet has he?
He turns 37 this year. Doubt we can offload him in this window but very much doubt if we'll give him another deal for the 2013/14 season. He was on £3k in Wales. I just really hope hes been on peanuts whilst at PNE. Its just strange we handed him a 12 month deal without fuss yet let Sodje walk out on us.

He is only 24 so has his best days ahead of him .
Garner as the out n out striker and Beavon buzzing about behind him could work nicely .

On paper, Stuart Beavon, Joe Garner and a fit Lee Trundle have the potential to be the best strike force in the division.

It's a great signing, now we just have to make sure we give them the service they deserve from out wide!

I sincerley fucking hope not. He needs to play up front and stay up front. If Westley plays him on the wing I think I'll write a strongly worded letter to the club.....that or set him on fire in the technical area.

I agree he needs to play up top, but if things aren't working in a particular game, no harm swapping with Amoo for 15 minutes or so. That's the point I was making, and Westley likes rotating players during a game.

The two aint even close. And you can't fault Carlisle commitment or passion, he was just past it and not all that good when we signed him.

Yeah, I agree. I found that he had to make a mistake to up his game. I don't think his head was in it anymore and he probably thought dropping down would be easy. He was past his best but I would never question what he was capable of or his effort. Just signed for us at the wrong time in his career.

I would hope that Garner and Beavon will be our first choice strike force. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Beavon may play behind Garner or on the wing when we're without the ball. Especially when we're either away from home or holding a lead.

do not jest about it....the chances are westley will see either garner OR beavon playing as he will have to have his stevenage chums in the side somewhere. I agree its a bout as good a signing as we could expect though...but i dont trust our ****e manager to adopt a style of play that will give either joe garner or beavon many chances....

Let's wait and see eh?

We're going to be even more despised with this diving, gobby fucker up front.

I like it.

Hopefully he carries on the scoring form he had at Carlisle.

Positive signing to start January with. I always prefer it is a striker takes the pens because it can add 4 or 5 a season to his goal tally. Hopefully his one in November wasn't a fluke.

Be interesting to see how Westley uses him though.

At Deepdale I think he'll mainly go 4-4-2 but away from home he might have either Garner or Beavon dropping back to one of the wings to make us more compact in midfield.
