Keith Treacy

Keith Treacy

Castolo, on the contrary you are the one thing that is laughable on here.

You've said these same exact words to dozens of people on here, you total nutcase. "[whoever I'm talking to], quite the opposite it is you who is [legitimate insult levelled at you with good reason]. Blah de-blah blah... [refuse to answer any questions that would involve you admitting being wrong]"

Castolo, on the contrary you are the one thing that is laughable on here. Everything I told you would happen did happen. I was a few years ahead of the lot of you and could see it coming from the very moment PNE threw away a 2:0 lead at QPR in the last 8 minutes.

By the way Castollo Parillon if handled correctly would have made it. Ward could have easily made it with us. Aspin at the moment I mentioned him was at the same level as McLaughlin is now. McGreevy despite being the leading scorer I told you all would never make it. Then again what chance did any of our youngsetrs have in the incapable hands of Simpson and Irvine? The answer is zero chance but you are ignorant on such matters.

Keep the link there Castolo as I shall taunt you some more about it.

Castolo I respond in kind so stop bleating the moment I dish it back to you. Tell me are you actually capable of debate? Don't bother answering now as I'm off to bed.

I'm thoroughly capable of debate, clearly shown by you squirming out of half of the points I raised in the post that people consider to have 'taken you apart'. If you claim Aspin was at the same level as McLaughlin is now then why didn't he start for us? And before you blame Irvine, you've called Brown 'Irvine Mark II', so what's the difference?

Whatever the reasons, any manager who fails to turn Keith Treacy (whatever his "problem") into a match winning left winger is, for me, a failure.
Treacy is one player I would happily pay to see. Phil Brown seems to have taken an immediate dislike to him. For me, Brown wants 11 defensive work horses in his team. How can Daryl Russell be in the team when Mayor and Treacy are not? Ridiculous.
A good defence is partially achieved through the oppo worrying about your forwards. However, with North End's 8 man defence at the moment, teams can concentrate on attacking pretty much most of the time. Eventually, a goal will be scored with our leaky defence. Brown seems to be aiming to win each game 1-0 or to battle for a draw.
Mayor and Treacy should start in any squad, to keep the full backs occupied.
English managers (including North End's new boss) prefer a cart horse to skill. Depressing times ahead for PNE.

Bob on post Paolo as usual !!

Bezza, on the contrary it is you who knows absolutely nothing about football. Packing 8 players behind the ball is not football. It is dire. It is negative. It is not what people will watch. What short memories fans like you have that you forget Irvine's brand of none football. The final straw for me with him was when we were 1:0 up and had won a corner in the last minute. He didn't send a single player into the box! Instead they tried running time down, lost the ball and allowed the oppostion to attack. We may as well have gone for it.

My worst fears about Brown are being confirmed. We've basically got Irvine MKII. Just bleedin' marvellous.

Voldemort if you cant see the current tactics are a case of Need's must then you really dont know nothing about football.
Would you rather us play attacking free flowing football and leave spaces and get hammered everyweek. Or play a tight defensive game and grind results out against leicester and Boro both of who are on decent runs.
The last 2 performances under PB will have the players Morale rising and self belief that when we dig in we can defend and be strong, The only thing we need to do know is find the back of the net on a regular basis, I believe if we take the lead in a game we are now showing signs we can dig in and defend the lead.

Castolo, you suffer from delusions of grandeur, I quote "taken you apart." I laughed so loud at that one I almost induced an apendicitis attack. As with many things in life it's all down to timing a basic concept of which you know nothing.

Mark, I was informed that (as I already know) Russell and Nicholson were NONE EXISTENT in midfield at Boro. Apparently they posed no creative threat whatsoever. That being so Brown will not dig his way out of this crisis. It's his job to get Treacy sorted and get him on that pitch where he can do something DIFFERENT because thes current clones are far too predictable.

We cant afford for one of our midfield players not to do the dirty work of defending. And Nicholson was meant to have put some superb tackles and blocks in at boro but you would have only listened to the person who would fo backed your hope up that nicholson was awful.
Treacy by the sounds of it does not want to put the work in when we dont have the ball.
As much as I would love to see him on the pitch it cant be justified when we have our backs to the walls and we need to play ugly football. at this moment in time Treacy is a luxary we cant afford against teams that are going to attack us all the time.
Against Scunny I would go with Treacy out wide and go all guns blazing to get the win. If we nick a goal or 2 then I would take Treacy off and get players on who will dig in and defend our lead with everything they have.

Mark, have you not sussed yet that Voldemort does not do discussion or debate, hes like an American Evangelical preacher, just comes on here to impose his own ill educated opinions.

Treacy's performances since November have been dire.

He has hardly played since November to be fair lol.

He needs reigning in and sorting out as he has bags of potential and as many have already said he will be another Whaley, But I for one believe Treacy is a much better prospect than Whaley.

Voldemort... How you can come to this conclusion after 2 league games of a relegation dogfight is beyond me. Desperate times require desperate measures & believe me these are desperate time. Brown is only doing what any manager in this situation would do & that is addressing the goals conceded column as a matter of urgency. Everything else will follow. I honestly believe even you dont have full conviction in what you just said

I agree with you but I can't see it being a quick "fix" if achievable. The chances are slim indeed of seeing the former inspirational Treacy in the next few weeks. Hopefully we will at some stage. Otherwise he will be Whaley mark 2.

I dont think he has that much time to be honest, Brown said at the forum he needs players to "sign up" to what he wants now and not in 10 games time!!!!

It would be a crying shame as Treacy has the ability to help lift us out of relegation.

Treacy is the next Simon Whaley. He's got talent, natural talent probably but it's to do with the lads upbringing (Brown's words) and to me how the personal problems he has had for the past few years and it's obviously now affecting his training and match performances.

On his day, he could single-handedly take a team apart down the left-hand side. An automatic choice? No, he shouldnt be anywhere near the first team squad in his current psychological state and he really does need some help by all accounts.

apendicitis attack, does that involve using wingbacks and nobody defending? could this be the tactics that we just dont get? if so, why didnt you just say that in the first place?

"Informed that (as I already know)," shows how you aren't going to change you're opinion. You didn't watch so you can't pass comment. Does it really matter if Russell didn't pose a creative threat, that's not really what he's there for is it?

Raefil a corker you've quoted

"theres none so blind as those that will not see."

Tell me, all your top boys have had access to these training manuals. That being so why have England won absolutely nothing since 1966? Could it be something to do with the fact that your manuals would have written off the likes of Worthington, Bowles, Marsh, Barnes et al for not "tracking back." I can just imagine you having digested your manual and regurgitated it verbatim to someone who goes beyond any known training manuals "Finney what are you doing standing on the wing? Get back in defence and get some tackles in. Whenever their winger gets to the edge of our penalty box I want you in there tracking him." That basically is why the likes of the aforementioned players of true world class standing never really got their chance with either Ramsey or Revie.

just what is your problem with players playing a team game? i was watching match of the day on sat night and one of the dusty pundits highlighted a certain wayne rooney sprinting back to cover the left back position left vacant by an advancing patrice evra, now was he wrong to do this? taking the initiative and doing a job for the team? or would you rather he stands with hands on hips and watches whilst the opposition exploit the gap? the same applies to wingers, a full back shouldnt be left to deal with two attacking players, and yes your going to point out that the center half should provide cover, but what if there is also two strikers and advancing midfielders to deal with? do you still expect a winger to stand and watch? do you really think any manager anywhere outside of madrid would accept that?

oh and by the way the likes of worthington were written off for being permanantly pissed!
