Stopped on a campsite in Lower Penarth for that game. Supporters of a number of clubs were there with some Lashers present as well.
They had played Leyton Orient and were staying there before travelling home.
We were well beaten in the game itself but didn’t hurt as much as the West Ham game because we hadn’t expected to get into the playoffs let alone the final.
They turned us over by a margin of 7-0 that season although we played very well at the Reebok early in the season.
Think Bolton had about 12 consecutive seasons in the top flight following that promotion.
Went to Wembley last weekend to watch Bruce Springsteen, first time back since the Swindon game.
