New Podcast

I am surprised also that the podcast has not had more regularity in episodes? Comments are almost like a blog in some sense where we read snippets but thought it would have some structure to it. Some of the sentiment I do agree with.

Focus on youth and player trading makes sense for a club of our stature is a path towards financial sustainability at the club without the owner forking out year after year.
I guess to make his podcasts more interesting, he needs other people to participate. Who in their right mind is going on, to get totally destroyed in live unedited debate?
He's offered PR the chance to go on, now that would definitely be worth a listen.

Isn't it Nick Harrison who deals with the Youth / Reserves?

He is more likely to offer out a bollocking as he knows them far far better from such a young age.
The way the Bennett issue has been "reported" is that it's come about since he's joined the senior squad.

Gally was a bit of a maverick player in his teens and probably had some of the same criticisms that Bennett gets now so it could be the coaching staff's way of seeing how he deals with matters.

One thing I do know is that a few lads Bennett's age who play for local teams don't like him. There's some jealously going on there because he's the one with the pro deal and they're at places like Fulwood Ams but he seems to rub people up the wrong way.

I'm a fan of Bennett as it is known on here.

However, one of my Dingle gaffers has watched him play footy since the age of 10, we got talking, I mentioned Benno is from Accrington way and the gaffer stated that "his attitude will hold him back".

I tried to defend Benno with the "but he is talented kid" line, which the gaffer agreed, but he remained to his key point that his attitude has to improve.

This a couple of days after his "upsetting a senior pro" here.

Suddenly, slight fears are creeping in that Benno is going blow it before he has even got started.

The kid needs taking aside, shown previous dolts who've blown it, what they could have had and have indeed become. If this doesn't sink in and spark his own personal "Lightbulb Moment", then nothing will.

I hope he knuckles down, grafts and makes it.

For all Bennett's chunnering and sulking when I saw him play at Longridge - he did actually put a shift in football wise and it was only when others round him in midfield (Leigh & Mawene) dropped off the pace that Longridge got on top and won the game.

4 goals yesterday, even against kids 2/3 years younger than him suggests that he wants to prove people wrong but he's going to be in a no man's land soon - too good for under 19s level 3 but not good enough for the championship. A third rate reserve game every 3 weeks also won't do much for him.

He perhaps does need to be loaned out now so we'll have to put faith in James Beet getting him somewhere decent, ideally League 1 or 2. Otherwise, six months at Brig where he has to travel to away games with the fans on the coach will show where his attitude is at.

@Oh Hughie Costello

It is times like these when AIMITA is quite correct in the instance.

Pointless having ability whilst having a massive sulk or chip on your shoulder.
Correct. Thankfully we've got a couple of Preston lads in the youth set up so we know they'll have the right attitude.

Kian Taylor is one. He messed up for one of the goals against Longridge but instead of looking for someone to blame or bollock he put his hand up to acknowledge his mistake and got on with things.

Don't think he would "destroy" anyone if it was under the premise of understanding his view point and getting it across.

I think he is a bit misunderstood at times and needs to stop placing a wager every five minutes.

I think it would be interesting if it was under particular premise of him not placing bets and maybe trying to listen to opposing views? Am I asking for too much?

The funny thing is he’s right about his transfer policy. We should be trying to sign young exciting players that we can develop and sell. Thats the main way a club like us is able to push on and develop

But the way he goes about that policy and everything else he repeats, just makes it impossible to take anything else seriously

Is the only way out of this misery
