You would think so. I liked him in the midfield role he was playing in the last few games but considering we chronically struggle to recruit full backs/wingbacks, I don’t see that midfield role becoming a full time thing.

They probably both wanted to see what they could get elsewhere, and whether or not they were able to stay healthy till the end of the year.

Brady being able to say his availability was decent is a big pro for his negotiating position, and same goes for Ched if he still wants to play football somewhere.

Yeah I think that would be a square peg in a round hole over the course of a season. He wasn’t tried there until we had an injury crisis.

There’s only 8 that I’d even consider Championship standard. So is it likely we will sign 17 players to make a 25? I don’t think so.

Ched just a coaching role and he thinks he can still play.
 
Still can’t believe we haven’t offered Best a contract. Unless we were worried he’d sign it?

Don't know what everyone is moaning about that squad was poor with Riss Woodman Lesson Bauer + Premier loans
Replace with better and Get 3 very good prem loans and we will be a lot healthier than last season...
My problem is Giving Hughes & Lindsey contracts we need better players than them.
And again there seems no way to make it at Preston for the youth Best was never given a chance, could be another Tyrhys Dolan...We better not lose Mawene... As a club we fail to produce home grown talent...we fail to make any money on players Riss & Woodman should be making us millions yet we will be told we have little for new players..... Brady on a one year is a no brainer poor at start of season but one of our better players second half...
We will need to be miles better next season just to keep up ..

If those are the case then both will have to leave - Brady may still have some usefulness as experienced back-up for one more season but Evans has been finished as a player at this level for the past two seasons.

I think you've nailed it. He'd have probably taken the contract if nobody else will touch him and we'd have been stuck with him.

Better off getting rid of he's a bad egg
 
IMO this is where it's at with the senior squad players.
Good Championship starters:
McCann
Osmajic
Mads
Gibson
Thor

Decent Championship backups:
Potts
Brady
Whiteman

Barely good enough back ups:
Storey
Hughes
Lindsay
(If we can sell any of these then great)

Not good enough and try to sell/loan:
Whatmough
Okkels
Keane (if can't sell, then 3rd choice ST)

We need to sign a minimum of 6 good enough starters. And then another 3-5 that can fit in the starters and decent championship back up spots. 4 of these signings are probably gonna be loans.

So it is going to be a make or break window. If we don't get it right, we will be going down. But there's plenty of room in the squad to have some of the refresh we need, but if we'll actually get it right, that's the big deciding factor based off the squad we have. Not an easy task on our luxurious budget. Good luck.

I'll say it again, Mads is one of the only players with any real skill, why in the love of God would you want to sell him? He'll be replaced by a lge 1 plodder 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Shocking retained list. Some of them have massively underperformed. Seems to be an abundance of midfielders. Need strengthening in all departments. Hopefully Iverson deal can get sorted. Okkels bit of a surprise thought he was farmed out to Aberdeen & hasnt done much for them either. Unless we strengthen we will struggle again & can only expect another relegation battle.

Why is it shocking? The club has no choice but to retain contracted players, or pay off their contracts.
