Confirmed Retained List.

That isn't the finalised squad though is it... I'm not saying we'll be good but Jesus Christ give it a chance eh. People wanted a clear out and that's what's left - we haven't signed anyone yet. What did you expect the list to look like exactly?

There's no surprises on there.

Give it a chance?
I have given it a chance for 10 years!

Where is the clear out?
Ledson is that it?? Others didn't even play

Can't believe some of us are genuinely surprised at these lists...with the exception of possibly Brady signing an extension that list is exactly what we've all known it was gonna be for a few months!. It's not the list that matters, it's what happens over the next 8 weeks.. to move some on and add quality to it. After the last 6 games I'm actually expecting us to give it a go and am genuinely excited to see what happens.
🤗🙏

Ridsdale needs to go on the strength of that retained list alone. I know if I’d ploughed in circa 100m in the last 10 years I want to know what the fuck it had been spent on. Unfortunately, we have owners who for some unknown reason don’t give a fuck.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Positive hat on.

5 good loans + Iversen, on top of Gibson, McCann, Thor, Frokjaer, and Osmajic means we'll have a stronger 11. Throw in 3 or 4 permanent, hopefully younger signings. With Storey, Lindsay, Hughes, Brady, Whiteman, and Keane providing 'experienced' backup... Possibly Nelson & Pasiek playing a bit-part, too.

No point whining until the recruitment is done. It most likely won't be good enough, but we won't know until the window shuts.
Although the retained list looks grim, the main issue (for me) is do I trust the club to suitably strengthen the squad? The answer is no.

Yeah great idea. Spend the transfer money paying players off rather than filling the gaps

Have you considered a role in business? You’re clearly a natural
Yeh I am running a business for your info.

Not exactly paying players off is it when it comes to Brady and Evans!!

As for Dai, yeh it's gonna cost millions to get rid of that shite! As if

What a state. Had to be done, but the list looks terrible.

Huge summer! Hope we've found some money down the back of the sofa because we're not rebuilding that for free + wages.

Also, ffs, let Ched go. Clear out all of the old guard and start fresh.

Remove the kids and Okkels from the contracted list and this is who is left. I don't know about you, boys and girls, but with our budget that is not a Football Manager save I fancy having a go at.

If you don't count the kids or Jeppe (why would we if they haven't had a look in this season), that's probably 11 new players needed to get us to a squad of 23. Westley figures.

That list is uninspiring but as I said earlier we can't release players who are in-contract. The test will be whether come the closing of the window we have managed to offload at the least Whatmough, Hughes and Keane with younger replacements brought in. There seems to be an indication that Whiteman knows he has underperformed lately and who knows maybe Okkels will suddenly find his form - stranger things have happened but like most here I would not be unhappy to see them start again elsewhere. Nor is there any guarantee that the negotiations with Evans and Brady will result in deals here.

But even as it is we have freed up the wages of the four loanees and Woodman, Bauer, Ledson and Riis. That is room for eight new professionals. If one of them does prove to be Iversen and two of the others are just possibly loan returns for Kesler-Hayden and Porteous (I don't think either of those are impossible) then we would still have five wages going free - my shopping list in that case would another central midfielder, right and left wing-backs and two strikers.

I know Evans isn't confirmed to be gone altogether, but I'm still choosing to see it as a win that he's been offered coaching without a playing option. He's never going to waste a spot on the bench or god forbid the XI again.

Yes give it a chance as in the transfer window isn't even open yet so what do you expect the remaining squad to look like. It's not just Ledson is it?

Woodman, Riis, Bauer, Best, Stewart all gone. Evans hasn't been offered a playing role. We know there was a deal lined up for Whatmough in Jan so he may well be off too.

Plus another 4 loans returned.

Your whingeing for the sake of it.

I wouldn't go that far and absolutely disagree RE Osmajic. In a top side dominating games and creating chances he scores 25-30+ in my opinion.

Mads is good enough and its a big season for him, same with Thordarson. Whiteman is a strange one, he is capable, but he again absolutely has to prove himself and stop the negative backwards shite. Potts is dependable and you need those players.

Brady again, good enough, quality on his day. If we knew he'd be fit for 70% of the season you keep him all day long. Trouble is, we don't.

The one glaring thing about that retained list is the complete lack of width and pace. We also literally have one striker now, one who might have his head turned. I can't count Keane after last season, he was absolutely abysmal.
The reason Osmajic is hit and miss to me is probably because we aren’t a top side unfortunately. I would like to see him in a better team to see how he’d fare.

I don’t rate Mads or Thordarson as highly as others, but I certainly can see the quality they possess on occasion. Whiteman probably doesn’t get in the first 11 if Thordarson plays the position he thrives in which is a bit of an issue.

Yeah I like Brady, think he was in our Top 5 players this season. Had relatively decent availability as well. Potts can fill multiple roles and has a superb engine, I much prefer him centrally though.

Fastest player is probably Osmajic. He’s pretty damn quick. The pace in the team then just falls off a cliff.
