Sam Greenwood

Mawene's loan opportunity was a very good one for him. Unfortunately he's been bloody awful.

I don't think he meant Noah.

He's probably talking about the younger one who's hardly played since the Brighton/Brentford rumours surfaced 6wks ago...

It won't happen though. No chance PH picks him...his only interest is the here and now, not developing a young talent who could make the club serious money in 2-3 years - he won't be here to bear the fruits.
Our only way of bringing through youth is to find good, effective loans, and let them develop over a few years. We did it with Davies but not with Earl and Best...thrown straight in, out of their depth, it knocked them back and now they need to re-build their careers in lower league.
We are awful at sourcing loans for our young players...it's almost as if we have a data analyst as a loan and pathways manager...
Our issue loaning our young players out is we are trying to send them to league 1 or 2 teams who have the same youth category as us so would just rather develop there own players who will be a similar level.

I am sure PH would play the youth players if they are good enough, unfortunately every manager in recent times have very rarely played them which suggests they aren’t ready as yet.

I said before xmas to sign him but now not so sure, really gone off of late as the Boro fans said he did for them.

He has a few games now to rediscover his form and earn a deal with us if he wants to join, Hecky will have him weighed up and will decide.

Played well first half of the season but been far too many games like today since Christmas.

Looked like he was running through treacle today.

The fact that he seems to be going backwards again is a big red flag not to sign him.

Nothing worse than an inconsistent player IMO, especially when they cost presumably 7 figures to sign on a perm.

Seems to just float without contributing enough in too many games.
