Nice to win and do the double over the Blades, can’t be too many times we’ve done that in recent years.

Actually a surprisingly good performance, all well and good saying we can only do it when it doesn’t matter but they’ve normally got their flip flops on at this stage, so a nice change.

Big fan of Moran, Devine plays so much better when he is playing. Moran is very agile and does get past people very well.

Nice to see Small at right wing, we looked really good on the counter in the first half with all the pace up front and the quality of Devine and Moran behind them.

I know it doesn't matter anymore but it was a good watch.

Great result from a performance that was for the most part not much more than hardworking. At half-time I was wondering if we could nevertheless get a couple more to reverse a 4-0 scoreline there that I witnessed long ago in the days when their ground was also still a cricket pitch.

As it was I didn't think even at 3-1 up that it was safe because they were doing what we really weren't doing which is getting the ball on the ground and playing in a fast pass-and-move style. We have to be frank and admit that we had a central midfield of a Div1 player Thompson and a class act but still slightly out-of-position Devine who really needs to operate further forward - we need someone like Armstrong there next season. Right at the end Devine threw his shirt to the crowd I hope that wasn't a tacit admission that he won't be needing it in future.

But it was a frantic match far more exciting than you might expect from a fixture so close to the end of the season. But football can always surprise you.

I’m in a bit of a quandary…I know they really pushed early in the second half but was going to a back five the answer?

Enjoyable match on the whole and we played some lovely stuff in the first half. Dobbin. Devine, Jebison, and Moran were fizzing the ball round with Thompson in Whiteman’s role in front of the back 4. Who’d have thought that Lindsay and Storey could have played that well in a back 4. My only criticism on the day was that we were visibly weakened by the introduction of Potts and Brady but maybe I’m being too harsh and should be focusing on Dobbin and Devine’s brilliant interplay and ability.

I don’t think you are being harsh I think you are spot on.

And if they didn't win they'd have been "on the beach" again.

No pleasing some.

Well it's a fact the players have been on the beach since January, only won cause Sheffield are even more on the beach and just got slapped 3-1 by Blackburn

A fortunate win over a wank on the beach team just papers over the cracks of a manager who has had the best players to work with yet the worst win % and performances

Good for the fans that travelled and that's it

Well, whether he's here or not next season, that shirt won't be used again, so might as well give it away 🙂.

No it’s not. It’s an opinion. And in my opinion (which is also an opinion not a fact) is that your opinion that you are calling a fact is a load of cobblers. We lost Armstrong and Iversen at a very similar time and the PPG dropped off. I don’t believe for one minute (another opinion) that there’s a lack of effort, but a lack of belief, leadership and quality. The ‘on the beach’ trope is, I believe a very lazy comment. I’ve watched nearly every game this season. Watch the effort put in today by, for instance, Jebbison, Thompson and Vuk. Just the first three that came to mind. Far from on the beach.

Cheers, have a good night and try to enjoy the three points.

Yep, fair comment.

We really need the takeover to go through and herald a new era. If new owners come in I don’t think today’s result will influence any decision regarding the manager so don’t think any cracks have been papered over.
I do enjoy us winning even when there isn’t much riding on it but that’s just my take.
I stress that the takeover is essential for progress.
