Trevor Hemmings has the only vote that matters and can resolve the problems we currently see and you are correct this poll is futile. However it does represent a snap shot of feeling around a small section of PNE fans. A vote total of 425 from a total of 12000, (average crowd last season) is not even a meaning critical mass. It is however a startling statistic when you consider that most people on here could not agree on anything.
I personally have gone through the Apathy barrier of this season and closed by not even bothering about anything North End once we had secured our league status. That was until noises started to emerge about the greater powers that were amassing to launch this club forward. I even got the money together to buy a season ticket, (the very least I could do considering the investment of Mr Hemming, - I actually felt I wanted to contribute in my own way). However the events of the last week have turned me cold. The winding up order was a body blow, Blackpool gaining promotion a knife to the heart; however the ongoing silence from PNE is causing the life machine to be turned off once again.
Derrick Shaw and the rest of the PNE Board are opening the way for rumours and aggression to be directed their way, not due to their actions but because of their inactivity and lack of communication. If this causes them to reel in horror at how they are being treated then they are bigger fools than anyone on here has given them credit for.
PNE is a business and in order for it to survive it needs funding currently through season ticket sales and donations from benefactors. None of these are going to happen until this perceived mess is sorted out and clear leadership is taken by someone who is prepared to stand up as figure head of the club and say ‘I am the man, you may not like what I have to say or the direction we are going, but if you do get behind the banner and follow me!’ Derrick Shaw and his team have failed to do this time and time again this season. He has continually criticised the very people who support the club, he continually talks down the club size and potential and as a result the image of the club is stunted and ‘Grey’.
For the first time ever I am embarrassed to be a PNE fan or associated with the club. I have never been second best at anything in my life whether in sport, business or life, and I refuse to be let this happen to my beloved club. At Preston there is a closed door policy and as soon as you put on the badge of supporter you are treated with distain and contempt. I find myself with little choice other than to walk away.
