After acl’s in each knee 10 or so years ago he’s had the normal range of hamstring etc injuries that many forwards are prone to in today’s game.

Obviously he’s getting to the end of his career so that could have an effect, but he’s been a class act in his time and has valued experience.

Could be a good signing, are they looking for a Billy Sharp replacement?

I wish him all the best but not at Sheffield United.

Has he? What are your sources?

What hamstring injuries are you referring to?

I think with how we now appear to at the one in, one out stage a concern beyond reinvestment through transfer fees the other concern is wage budget.

Let’s say we end up with a 10million pot (lol I know).

If the available wage budget is 15-20k what does that really matter? We can’t buy a player worth 7 mil for example as they aren’t taking 15k a week to play here.

Just what I think could be the next problem. Think Alex Neil described it in an interview after leaving us.
Yeah, I think this is the main reason we'll always be fishing around the £2m-3m transfer fee mark for incomings - because anyone more expensive would want higher wages than we can afford.

It's also why we often end up with our better players running down their contracts in the final year - we can't afford to give them the wages they want to stay because they're already at the top of our wage structure, and we can't afford to bring in a replacement until they're off the wage bill, so it's just easier for the club to let them stay, then criticise them in the media about their attitude, so the fans blame the player for the situation, not the club.

This is fundamentally why we'll never sell a player for £10m profit and bring in e.g. two for £5m each to improve overall squad quality. We can't afford the wages of players who cost £5m, so we'll only ever bring in e.g. five players worth up to £2m each, and hope "2 out of 5" come good.

The Osmajic situation will help show where we are at.

If the club look at him now and value him as at least a 10 million pound striker they’ll surely be in talks with an improved contract.

Getting him tied down for 4 years on improved terms maximises resale.

Bans, injuries etc aside Osmajic looks like this will be his best output in terms of goals and that is when he will move from being a prospective target for clubs to concrete moves being made.

Yep, the only chance we ever make it right now is if a 10m profit leads to 3x 3m, or 4x 2.5m type signings, giving us squad improvements and the possibility to make more money down the line. If there's a more significant income through player trading, we might even be able to increase the wage budget, or build a squad that's good enough we can take a chance on short term investment to shoot for the moon.

But you need that base to build from, if you ever want that to be the right gamble to make.

I think Delap is over rated. He will struggle at Chelsea, I have no idea why they bought him and then Pedro. Pedro is vast superior to Delap in every way. Do you think Delap is much better than Milly?
Wtf?

Yes, Delap is much better than Osmajic. I actually think he'll establish himself at Chelsea and Joao Pedro with probably end up playing #10 where he's better anyway.

Yeah, now that his mate's signed up for 3 years, maybe he'll be agreeable to an extra year if he's made our top earner, perhaps with a minimum fee release clause.

The club for their part may want to see what happens with the FA charge before offering him anything though.

Rovers have signed more shit from Legia Warsaw for an undisclosed fee. I think that’s how you pronounce it.

Japanese International defensive / attacking wide player.

Scored 14 goals last year with as many assists.

Sounds decent to be fair despite not knowing a great deal about him
