Every club makes poor deals from time to time. It’s a rare day that a club is able to mitigate a poor deal to the extent that it becomes cost neutral.
It seems optimistic to me that this has happened, but if the club has even come close to mitigating the expense of the Okkels misadventure - then there’s some credit due somewhere.

Okkels must be a contender for our worst ever signing

Significant fee for us, completely mindless in the logic signing when you think who he was replacing in Millar, having a hopeless record at Utrecht and giving them a profit, being miles off Champ level, flopping out on loan and then being sold 12 months later

None of which is his fault and I wish him the very best in getting his career back on track

From what I remember was we chased Wallem for months then suddenly Okkels signed out of nowhere . One of the strangest transfers in a long time

But if having him here helps keeps Osmajic happy then that deficiency is probably worthwhile.

The only positive was that it meant Ridsdale had to throw MRKT under the bus to save his skin - and that was the end of them.

In sensible clubs, the Jeppe deal would have been the end for a 73yr old habitual failure.

Not ours, though.

And that stability is what’s served the HMRC so well over the past 14 years.
