And another reason I believe he should train on his own, not with the U21's as he will be likely spouting his side of the situation and causing further unrest.
I agree sherfield, he should now be set aside on his own until he leaves the club. It would be wrong to have him anywhere near the rest of the playing & coaching team, irrespective of what level that is.
He must go for me, the sooner the better!

I think he will to be honest. Benefits no one in this dragging on. We certainly can’t afford to hang around. I just think possibly he will be told he isn’t going anywhere until we have a replacement in the door.

Agreed, but when it leads to a player refusing to play then it becomes more serious.

You didn’t see Marc guehi refuse to play when he didn’t sign for Liverpool last season. I would probably understand it more if it was a prem club and whiteman was a top championship player. But he’s fucking Ben whiteman. The titanic moves quicker.

If Wrexham have been making him an offer, if he his refusing not just to play but if forced to play he may just go through the motions, these are things that need sorting.

Can you imagine that if this situation is allowed to happen, what the situation would be if Barca offered 20 mill for Man City's captain who may be worth 120 on current values.

City turn down the offer.

If the players agent was discussing terms behind City's back.

If city's captain refused to fulfil his contract and City had to carry on paying him half a mill a week for another year, I think it may be taken a bit more serious.

If a no mark like Whiteman is allowed to get away with this there is no end to what may follow on for any player, at any level doing the same.

This is how the freedom of contract situation started, who knows where it could end.

There’s no going back for Whiteman, he can’t play another game and needs to be replaced now whether he’s actually sold or not.

I’d make him sweat for a bit and hold out for a fee that works for the club. If he’s sold for a rock bottom price, what is to stop McCann pulling the same tactic if the West Brom interest materialises?

I agree that he should no longer be allowed on any property belonging to Preston North End football club. If you want to stay fit go for a jog. No play no pay should be the baseline that PNE hold your contract until the end of June next year and should no one meet the clubs valuation you can stay the other side of the bridges you burned and maybe reflect on you stance for a year while PNE do not release your contract, as your not failing to play through injury but choice. The club will not be manipulated in this way.

If wrexham have spoken to him or his agent without our permission surely that’s is an illegal approach.
Should that not then be reported to the FA? Just cause they have money doesn’t mean they’re above the rules. We could of course add what fine they’re likely to get onto the transfer fee and not report them.

I doubt they have done anything wrong tbf. Whilst they might not have made an official ‘bid’ there’s no point going in for a player if he’s not interested in moving.

Wrexham have probably phoned the club and sounded it out and got permission to speak to his agent. From what Heckingbottom said, it sounds like it’s been ongoing for a few days.

As others have said, we don’t stand in the way of players and, rightly or wrongly, we don’t ask for stupid fees. I very much get the impression that North End have said ‘you can go if we get this’. The figures thrown around on here are generally what you’d imagine for a player with 12 months on his deal. I said £4m initially but to be honest, I thought he had 2 years on his contract.

His agent has clearly told him to throw his toys out the pram but from what Heckingbottom has said, the club appear to have stood firm on the figure.

As much as the club won’t want him sat on his arse getting paid for 6-12 months, Whiteman won’t want that either. He needs this move as much as the club do now. No other club in this division doubles his wages. Not one. Most probably wouldn’t match what he’s on here. He probably gets his Wrexham move but is another club really coming in for him after he’s twerked so hard for Wrexham?

You are probably correct PrideNE and I don’t necessarily disagree, however if he has already played his last game for us? As the manager states, then replacement or not, he has to go as a matter of urgency. You cannot have a cancer in the club, that’s the last thing we need right now especially given the fragile state we find ourselves in?

We go through this merry dance every summer. There’s less than 2 weeks and where are the new players? Utter incompetence from these awful owners. Cannot understand anyone being grateful to them - good riddance and take the useless Ridsdale with you!

We’re 2 weeks off the start of the season and needed 2 wide players so we can start implementing the 4-2-3-1 formation Hecky wants. Now looks as if we may be trying the formation for the very first time ON the first game of the season, rather than work on it in pre-season.

Incompetent recruitment.

Although I agree, I presume all clubs do that to some degree. Wasn’t there something similar when Whiteman wanted to come to Deepdale to showcase his footballing talent?

Yep and we’ve all been waiting patiently for him to do so!

The outrage is a bit OTT.

Thought most people would have realised that a lot of footballers are wankers by now….

The only good thing is the transfer window is properly gonna kick into action this week. Clubs coming back from pre season tour and players starting to returning after the world cup. If you look at most clubs business has been slow.

It wouldn't be the first time. Was used against Brig. Maybe Wednesday too. But has been the back 3/5 since then because of Small injury.

Hopefully can get someone in before Huddersfield to play it in that game. Won't be holding my breath on that one though.

Quite clearly the current owners do not want to spend anymore money than they have to do if a new owner is on the horizon.

Hence why no incomings!

Suppose to be best transfer window ever with the “takeover” happening
Its getting worse daily
No communication
Captain being a dick one week before start of season
No players
Still using that fucking formation 🤬
If alan browne goes to them dicks down the road 🫠
Take over or no takeover
We need a miracle this year looking at the teams to stay up

Roger Mellie got told that they are bringing players in. I suspect it will go down to the wire like it always does
