Here's a realistic-ish list of free agents in the positions we should be recruiting for.

Some okay, some less so, not the most inspiring list anyway. The loans needs to be great again this window as I can't see us paying for the required quality for all of these positions as things stand.

LB:
Joe Bryan 32 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

CB:
Jonathan Panzo 25 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇨🇮
Reece Welch 22 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇯🇲

CM:
Will Smallbone 26 🇮🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Joe Aribo 30 🇳🇬 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Tyler Onyango 23 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇰🇪

LW:
Ryan Kent 29 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

RW:
Solly March 32 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Ian Poveda 26 🇨🇴 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Ryan Hedges 31 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

ST:
Ross Stewart 30 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Elijah Adebayo 28 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇳🇬
Marcus Forss 27 🇫🇮

Now were back to shopping in the bargain basement here is a list of free transfer players that yes not all inspiring but do have the championship experience we are definitely going to need until the takeover is completed

No issue with Li-Bau going out on loan. Heckingbottom would rather put an outfield player in goal before a youth player /s and as a younger (and keeper?) loan there should be a 24 hour recall clause if one of Iversen or Nicholls gets crocked.

It will be a busy two weeks. Plenty of incomings.
We will look a lot healthier come Bolton.
What intrigues me is that are these ‘incomings’ joining us having been assured that we will have different owners soon.
If it was me it would be an absolute must and the the first question I would want answering.

How have the club manipulated anyone to buy a season ticket?

I can understand the frustration given the complete absence of updates - which feels like someone on the buyer or seller side is being completely unfair on us. But "manipulating people into buying STs" is not at all how I read it either.

Manipulation would be if the club manufactured or greatly exaggerated the story of a probable exciting takeover - and to me it still looks like the indications were not a pack of lies. .

I would certainly be using my ST if I'd bought one! If the takeover falls down, I would be very surprised if it was obvious at the time people bought their tickets.

Just thinking of names to replace BW, does anyone think we would look at Luca Connell? Hecky will know all about him.

About for five popped up so we condensed them.

Thanks for the clarification wasn't having a pop 👍

I like the line of thinking, would prefer someone who's just had a good season in league one and is ready for the step up. Lots of options out there for that defensive/central midfield role.

Barnsley fans aren’t the biggest fans of him despite his stature in the squad. He was a brilliant prospect who we should’ve signed from Bolton all those years back, but I’d certainly be looking elsewhere for our replacement. Armstrong is the absolute dream. Talk of us needing to get our own talent and not relying on loans is ridiculous. It’d be nice to not rely on them so much, yes, but HA is not an opportunity you turn down. He would completely turn the chances for this season on its head. Apart from him James McConnell at Liverpool would be nice, struggled at Ajax for game time but clearly talented . Keersmacker would also be infinitely better than Whiteman, as would a Bajetic, Dan Gore or Toby Collyer.

Marc Leonard?

The achilles injury makes it even more likely....
Proper player. Earlier in the window I thought if takeover was done and we had good cover, he’d have been a great punt if Birmingham were willing to sell for less after the Achilles injury. He was mint for Hearts last year. But I don’t think we are in a position to be signing players who will be out injured when the squad is so threadbare.
