Lindsay, Storey and Hughes play, now there’s a novelty.Offiah and Gibson add a calmness back- Harry Clarke will be added and add calmness. The issue is when all 3 of them Lindsay storey and Hughes play.
The problem isn't the formation.Perhaps if he'd have tried the new formation during pre-season it wouldn't take so long to adjust to it now...
The problem isn't the formation.
The problem is the players he chose to play in it.
And we’re not inventing something new here; it’s four at the back - how hard can it be for professional footballers and highly experienced coaches?
Yet we had the same old problems; starting players who weren’t good enough last season, pisspoor set pieces, throw-ins that would shame a Sunday league side, lack of urgency,
19% of our passes yesterday were long balls, compared to 20% for Bolton. For sure, we struggled to progress the ball yesterday with quality because we had Storey, Lindsay, and McCann. But ‘Neanderthal hoofball patterns of play’ is obviously silly - especially as I’d put good money on you being one of the actual Neanderthals in the crowd who shouts ‘FORWARD!’ all game.Neantherdal hoofball patterns of play, changes made too late.
I'd have him back in a heartbeatYou'd be surprised if The Family leave.
I know a family member of his and I was told he wouldn't return here under the current set up / owners (IoM). He will, I was told, be happy to manage again in this region at some stage given the location of his family but he is currently happy (as of last March) at Millwall.
This was about March time the chat I had.
Thanks for that, didn’t realise how well we had played.Happy clapper award coming your way 😳What does this even mean? Don’t you know we’re also playing against professional footballers and highly experienced coaches?
Which set pieces are you talking about? We had two corners: the first found Hughes with a well-worked free header in the first half, and the second was a good delivery from Devine. The free-kick deliveries were largely fine too, they were simply well defended.
As always, you’re making things up to sensationalise the situation rather than actually reflecting what happened.

We were poor for 60 minutes mate. I’m just pretty rational, which is quite uncommon on here. Thanks for that, didn’t realise how well we had played.Happy clapper award coming your way 😳
McConnell got into the game a bit more after the first lot of subs.I have just read the full thread of the first Liverpool v Como game , all 70 minutes of it…..
McConnell didn’t get one mention , which might be a good thing…..
Koumas got lots of positive comments as did Ramsay..
One poster suggesting that they should keep Luke Chambers as cover ….
McConnell was subbed off after 67…
I’ve just been on a Liverpool forum and somebody has stated that the first game is only 35 minutes each way……
But hecky said yesterday with addition of Clarke as R.B he his happy with his back line he suggested more additions further forward. ...he knows best I suppose ..If we can get a CB we need we will be fine. We cannot afford Lindsay, Storey, and Hughes to start again…
Thompson neither honking
We didn't sing loud enough 🤷♂️Fans' fault again innit.
I’m not sure about that….But hecky said yesterday with addition of Clarke as R.B he his happy with his back line he suggested more additions further forward. ...he knows best I suppose ..
And it took the manager until the 63rd minute to make a change. The subs stopped the bleeding at least. The biggest problem for me yesterday was not just the line up, although I wasn't happy with it, it was the lack of action after the first 20 or 30 minutes when a blind man could see we were getting slaughtered down our right hand side!
