The king is back

The king is back

I have been informed that we are interviewing Kevin Blackwell today, and that we have already spoken to Billy and Dave Jones also.

Now if I am ever going to get upset, then Blackwell, the little shit, would upset me. I've been in a bad mood since we lost the 5th time this season under Brown. My language on this forum has not been at it's mercurial best of late. I would desert PNE till that fucking twat, ( And remember the little bastard in the play-offs) fucked off back to whatever shithole he climbed out of. He's a horrible dispicable bastard of the highest order.

Knowing what Billy Davies is like, no. I don't think it would be that straight forward.

I read from the big E that he was in talks, and heard nothing since. I would make a guess you have better conctacts than myself, I was just curious if you'd heard something, or if it was just in your opinion. As I said, I wasn't doubting you, just assumed it was from a reliable source as such.

Not at all.....im just the same as everyone else.....listening to the rumour mill.

Didnt you mention Paul Dickov yesterday....a bit random ?

Did that come from inside the club ?

I mentioned Paul Dickov a couple of weeks back after someone pointed him out to me.

Oldham fans love him and believe he'll go to a bigger club than PNE.

Unfortunately, I have no contacts. It was just purely who I wanted!

Do you not think if Davies was coming back he would have been lined up and in situ by now ?

Not necessarily Budgie. Sometimes it takes time to iron out the fine detail of contracts, monies to be made available, so on & so forth. Billy wont return without certain guarantees, he's in the driving seat should negotiations be taking place. If Trevor wants him, then Trev is going to have to stump up the cash & quite a bit of it in my humble opinion. I think I've allowed myself to get a little flutter in my belly, but I'll believe Davies is coming back as soon as it's officially confirmed. Till then I'm holding my breath. And it's killing me.🙂

Fail enough metal....I think the Dickov rumour is a possibility

Cheapest option will be Unsworth and Alexander. Rather than appointing Davies I'd rather these 2 were given a few games to prove their worth.

We have been quite succesful in recent years when appointing managers from within - Gary Peters, Billy Davies, David Moyes etc.... Big Sam wasn't given the position full time but has gone on to prove his worth at other clubs...

Agreed

I agree! I just get the feeling cos its a joint temp appointment and not a no1 and no2 that this is deffs just temporary situation n somebody will be in place very SHORTLY!!!!!

He isn't going to come here. The wages would be crap. There's no money for players. Even if by a odd chance he did come here then the liklihood is he'd not be as successful as last time and that would leave his image tarnished.

Yes we had soem good times but remember the Leeds play off and the 27 striker formation? He lost the plot.
At last someone talking sense, although I don,t think he lost the the plot.He knew exactly what he was doing. He was going to leave us regardless and made sure we would more likely than not loose. This is just my opinion.

Its all getting very interesting on here and lets remember that last time around he was under contract at Nottingham Forest. This time around he is a free agent and I do believe that this can happen if both parties want it to. But a potential stumbling block could be the others that BD might want to bring with him.

If and i hope there's an if he was to come back here then i also think this could be the case unfortunately.

Remember being at the game and wondering who the hell was going to get the ball back when we lost it. The shcoking thing was what a terrible side Leeds were at that moment in time, as their demolition by Watford and relegation the next season proved.

How many games did we win 2-0 that season, especially at Deepdale, on the back of a strong work ethic, pressing the opposition and forcing them into mistakes. Only Billy will know why he completely abandoned that plan in the way he did.

I was recently reading Brian Moore's autobiography, and he was explaining how England had reached the 1991 World Cup final off the back of a solid, forwards-based game where field position and territory were paramount. Then they decide for whatever reason to throw the ball around like a sevens team vs Australia in the final and get turned over 12-6.

The Leeds semi-final reminds me a lot of Will Carling's team - why ditch a plan that has worked?

In the last few weeks I dont think I have ever agreed with you so much as of late. And again I find myself agreeing with the above post. At the end of the day if Trevor wants Davies then it can be done. But how much will Trevor fork out? He might be a secret Jack Walker after all. 😀

Mother and sister are at the hospital and just text me saying that they had met the north end team, mother started speaking to one of the staff who mentioned that billy davies is on his way back to the club, this is the news we have all been waiting for so how do we feel about this? personally I think we have been given a earlier christmas present, great news fingers crossed if its true and Billy is on his way back. Time to kick start our season COYW!

Yeah, I was having a piss next to him in the Broady in Leyland and he told me the same.

However, the bookies are rarely far off.
