The pitch

The pitch

Abused? Isn't a pitch meant for playing on? Christ, worden park is played on more times and it still has grass on it.

I remember a few years ago one of the managers saying that a pitch should only be used 25 times a season, maximum. That's why the reserve games got switched to Bamber Bridge or Chorley.

At the start of the season, Westley tried to get us to play football. Unfortunately, teams learnt how to play against our plan A, so much so that it became the norm for us to go 3-0 down after an hour.

The weather may not have helped but the pitch looked the worse it has been since Lancashire Lynx played on it in the late 1990s.

Okay, we got a point today, but Coventry had four or five chances before we scored, and their two goals were poor from a defensive side. Having said that, we should have won the game by the end and we haven't been able to say that for a long time.

Look it's blatantly obvious Westley has had them training on the pitch to churn it up and bring teams down to our level.

We keep getting beat at home and he needed to stop the rot. Vandalising the away dressing room failed so vandalising the pitch was the next option. Soon after his arrival last Jan he did the same.

I go to Deepdale to watch a professional team play decent football. That pitch was an embarassment. Westley is trying his best to make sure we have a non league surface and unfortunately his team ain't far behind.

Think he just about got away with it today with his horrible pitch, 5 changes and average opposition in Coventry.

If destroying the pitch by training on it doesn't work, he will have Dino excavate a network of tunnels under the pitch. He will then purchase and encourage a family of moles to live within these tunnels.

I was shocked by the state of the pitch and can only think it was a deliberate 'tactic' by Westley. Still, at least the rot was stopped, so maybe the end justifies the means to some extent but I certainly wouldn't want to see it in that state again. I seem to recall a similar pitch under Phil Brown and the opposing manager complaining that it hadn't been like that when he watched us a week or so previously.

Did anyone come out and paint a penalty spot today (assume we had a penalty to prove my point)
No!
So it was and is well prepped considering its chucked it down for six months solid then snowed.
It's grass, the players run around on it, it cuts up
Get a grip!

Our pitch is deliberately being made into a mess. If results become favourable over the next few weeks I won't be arsed.

Quite right and guess what in a few weeks or so it will start to grow as well!
