Matchday Thread The Plastics v Preston North End - 10/11/23 - KO:8PM - Championship
Yeah, a lot of delusion on there, but there are a few that acknowledge that we aren’t as bad as some are making out and that there are players in our squad that would supplement some of what they have.I’ve just listened to one of them on YouTube and according to him we are a team of average championship players who won’t get promoted because the minute we come up against a good team we will be beaten (insinuating as he goes along he meant them but couldn’t directly say them because we beat them🙄). I don’t know what game he watched but he claimed they were by far the better team everywhere on the pitch bar the result. I thought they probably edged it in the second half but it could have gone either way. Have they forgotten last season too, this far superior team they keep claiming are not very good at being superior are they , bunch of absolute deluded divvies.
There’s no doubt that they played some of the ‘better’ football, but what’s the point if the team has no fight, grit and ability to play the ‘ugly’ way, if that’s what you want to call it.
They have a point about us being beaten by the top teams lol, hopefully we can put that right. We really aren’t that far off from being a good team. We need to remember that we weren’t expecting anything from this team before the season kicked off and the likes of Millar, Osmajic and Best were unknown quantities.
Anything Best gets this season will catapult him in terms of development and next season, we’ll probably see an infinitely improved player. He’s not perfect, but on the whole, he’s more than holding his own.

Leicester Ipswich Sunderland pne all top 6 have beaten rovers they haven't met Leeds or Southampton yet so how deluded are they .Yeah, a lot of delusion on there, but there are a few that acknowledge that we aren’t as bad as some are making out and that there are players in our squad that would supplement some of what they have.

Did we ever find out what set of supporters were booing during the minutes silence before the game? If nobers then please hang your heads in shame,,,,,if plastic chicken pluckers then they have just slipped to the same level as the lashers!
From what I’ve heard/seen it was onside as the ball was played, even Rovers fans have posted the same. Also think Sky looked at it closely and found it was onside. Was whiteman left foot standing in an offside position leading up to our winning goal? If so it’s makes my weekend even better HAHAHA 🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of them was saying that we were plastic fans when they were discussing how many tickets we’d sold 🤣.Leicester Ipswich Sunderland pne all top 6 have beaten rovers they haven't met Leeds or Southampton yet so how deluded are they .

And I’ve also seen that it was a few Blackburn fans trying to sing at our fans. Not seen anything from Preston fans calling any of our lot out.

No - when Browne made the pass to him the defender right in front of the goals was playing him onside. Check that side-on video that shows the crowd celebrating - the crucial moment is 0.02. After that the defenders rushing back get at least a yard goalside of him.
So much for Rovers being a big club

I have several friends who purport to be Blackburn fans and they don't like me calling them Plastics. Not one of them goes on regularly: I show them my season card and tell them that's what makes a genuine supporter. They usually make some excuse about busy lives, work, geography etc.

The Browne goal was a wonderful goal, brilliantly finished off by Browne following a wonderful ball by Potts, but let’s not forget the importance played by Will Keane who had an average game by his standard. It was Keane that stole the ball off Dolan and passed it short to Whiteman who quickly passed it to Holmes who also passed it quickly to Potts. It was a goal of beauty, but it all started with an intelligent interception by Keane.
I didn’t hear any booing…….Did we ever find out what set of supporters were booing during the minutes silence before the game? If nobers then please hang your heads in shame,,,,,if plastic chicken pluckers then they have just slipped to the same level as the lashers!
I watched the game again yesterday ( well, the best bits ) and didn’t hear any noise at all during the silence…….
There was some booing at the beginning of the silence, but it was impossible to tell which end it was coming from. I would imagine that anyone at the game would be able to clear this up.I didn’t hear any booing…….

Prior to VAR it wouldn’t even have been under discussion. From what I’ve heard/seen it was onside as the ball was played, even Rovers fans have posted the same. Also think Sky looked at it closely and found it was onside.
I was in the lower tier in the block next to the Jack Walker stand. As the silence was meant to start there was something shouted from the Blackburn fans(upper tier), so predictably there was some shouts of “wanker” and booing from our end. Lasted no more than 10 seconds.Did we ever find out what set of supporters were booing during the minutes silence before the game? If nobers then please hang your heads in shame,,,,,if plastic chicken pluckers then they have just slipped to the same level as the lashers!

I was in the Jack Walker Stand (with the plastics) - the initial shout came from the bottom corner of that stand by a blackburn fan - then some of ours starting calling him, which led to some more of theirs calling ours, until everyone realised it is best for all to keep quiet, but then the ref blew his whistle early anyway. Shame really - the poppy day and the bugling etc is something that football supporters as a rule do magnificently well , as was case v Coventry - always brings a tear to my eye

Mad how committed our away support is. Something to be properly proud of. When you consider our average is bigger than Leeds ffs! It’s a real anomaly, surely only Plymouth rival us in that top 10 in terms of smallest discrepancy between average home and away attendance. How is it explained? Is the core of our fanbase just committed as fuck?
I think that we are in a slightly false position , the average skewed a bit by the 6,000 that we took to Blackburn…Mad how committed our away support is. Something to be properly proud of.
