They'd argue the decision to outsource is simply brilliant - they are just miffed that their turnover is pathetic compared to other clubs (it's the worst in the Championship, in fact).

Them's the breaks fellas - if you want revenues like the big boys like Rotherham and Huddersfield, bring the work in-house, don't outsource!

Presumably all of this affects our FFP too as it's measured against turnover?

Looks like Riis will be off loaded in Jan; a well timed goal to improve the price ? Which other players have any value where they are in a similar contract situation…and won’t sign a new one ? Freddie W could move with a small fee/free maybe and enable Iverson to come in ?

I a report of saw Spurs looking for cover for Vicario, in the Sunderland keeper, Patterson, or Burnley's James Trafford.

They'd likely want someone English and happy to be sat on the bench. Wonder if Freddie would be an option for them, given that Sunderland and Burnley are both promotion chasing and would be in a position to demand an inflated fee.

No, it's measured against profit/loss - so wouldn't make any difference.

The new proposed rules limiting spending on wages/fees to a percentage of turnover, on the other hand - if an owner wanted to be forced to minimise their own spending, they'd benefit from keeping turnover as low as possible by outsourcing everything...

He'll go if it suits him...not the clubs decision

Sure this has been covered but

“Our streamlined organisational and decision-making infrastructure gives us a fighting chance in the ever complex and data-driven world of scouting new football talent.”

The massive oaf has just pointed to the exact reason our ‘streamlined’ (aka Jaffa Cake powered feckless tubster) process doesn’t work. It’s complex, well beyond the limited mastery of a solitary, ill-informed dinosaur knobrot (not naming names).

He might be able to make quick decisions but they are deeply shite (overpaying on Okkels).

I think the guy genuinely is a narcissist, staggering his refusal to acknowledge anything referring to possible mistakes on his part (of which we all know there is a ridiculous amount). He's gripping on to every last shred of power by any means necessary, he's going to have to be dragged out kicking and screaming and it's blatantly evident our sleepy chairman has fallen hook line and sinker for his drivel.

Quite obvious the letter and proceeding meeting hasn't/won't register in the slightest. Time to up the anti, this clown simply HAS to go or this club is going in one direction only.

From the owner’s point of view, wanting to sell, it’s not going to be their priority to replace PR. Also who decent is going to want to come in with a potential short tenure ? We all love a scapegoat but it’s not just his fault; yes he shouldn’t get involved as much in recruitment maybe but there are other voices in that process as well.

The club have to submit to the EFL, by 31st December, their Annual Accounts for the financial year 2023/24. They will probably argue that this why they have made the public statement today - "Nowt to do with the fans groups' letter. Honest."

I've also just spotted that the Profit and Sustainability Regs for this season [EFL Regs, Section 6, Appendix 5, Para 1.1.4 "Adjusted Earnings Before Tax"} includes a "Cost of Living Allowance" of £2.5m. Surely this, along with the higher income levels in recent years that the Club's statement boasts about (and the new TV deal), should ensure that there is still FFP headroom to spend money in January if the Club's owners make the extra funds available. Will they not invest to sustain our Championship status?

Perhaps that question should be put to CH/PR ,the reason for outsourcing was to keep turnover as low as possible,to minimise spend under FFP ?

Doesn't affect our current FFP situation, so right now there's nothing to ask.

But it will affect our ability to spend if/when the proposed new turnover-related rules come in - it will make our spending the lowest in the division, and much lower than it is now.

I am sure the owners already know this, and I am sure they cannot wait.

Who's paying for Riis when they can have him for free in a few months. Riis will also be happy to wind down here and pocket an inflated signing on fee in the summer.

Genuinely hard to see who we could offload due to either happy to pick up the wages here or nobody will want them. Maybe Ledson out on loan with view to perm in L1. But even then, our silly stance on wage contribution probably prevents that.

I think it will be a very quiet window.

I do vaguely remember Ridsdale saying that Okkels was a signing Lowe wanted

It was when he coined the phrase "club recruit" - as he attempted to square the fact Lowe had "bought into" the signing with the rather glaring other fact that Lowe had also just fucked off out the door:

"This is a club recruit which Ryan had bought into - as opposed to the recruitment taking place because one person wants them, which is not the way it works."

"We have to get more bang for our buck."
This made me laugh! Does this guy actually believe that over the last 10 years our meagre budget has been spent wisely? I recall all the millions that have been wasted on players that have hardly ever worn the shirt (Bayliss), players signed who had terrible injury records (Izzy Brown, Conor Wickham), stupid and incompetent contract extensions (Bauer, Harrop), player contracts allowed to run down and leaving for nothing. Just get this clown out of our club.
