He took a picture and posted it on his Instagram story of a North End fan in last seasons away kit with the caption along the lines of 'Ah lads it's a disaster' whilst he was lying on a beach presumably on holiday.

He then tweeted saying he was only on about the kit colour and not the fan but he seems to have now deleted that tweet too.

All been blown out of proportion but I'm not having the original story was about the 'kit colour' 🤣

Yeah I’m not buying the excuse whatsoever. I wonder if he wishes he didn’t comment straight away.

It was definitely intended for his private story and I imagine him/the players have been “pestered” by fans while trying to relax before, so he’s making a lighthearted joke based on that.

Probably doesn’t feel great if you’re the fan in the picture though 😅 but it’s not one to take to heart.
 
I'm not Ben's biggest fan in footballing sense, and I don't know him personally, but I'm fully behind him with this, any kit just because its your clubs can be based on opinion and if he thought it was mining who's really to argue, I also thought it was a bit in your face, so he's having a crack on holiday who actually cares. and even if it wasn't really meant like that, he's not exactly brought the club into disrepute like other players, he's done nowt wrong leave him alone. Jesus Christ.

If I played for us (or anyone for that matter) and I was sat on a beach in the summer on holiday and I saw someone wearing one of our shirts, I am sure my first reaction would be something along the lines of 'for fucks sake.'

There are so many morons out there that would think nothing of pestering the life out of a player all holiday.

People should just leave the bloke alone, nowt to it.

If any of us were on holiday halfway around the world and saw a moaning bastard we worked with, we'd highly likely send something similar to other friends or colleagues too.

It's nothing. The "explanation" made things slightly worse but it's still nothing.
 
Like it is a disrespectful in the way it immediately reads (ohh one of the people who passionately follows my team and helps pay my wages might have the audacity to make small talk with me)

But the excuse is that shit i buy it. Between the team, them having a running joke about how garish the away shirt is makes sense and then seeing when you're trying to relax would be something more for the group chat really.
