Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

and here comes another happy clapper, if your aunty had balls she would be your uncle, oh and they were bottom 3, just sacked their manager and we had NO shots on target

That's the crux really, i'm all for a good solid defensive performance and as ive said can admire that side of it - but yes we DO have to show something offensively over 90 minutes, otherwise concede a goal in the last minute and lose 1-0 with no shots then that really would be cause for criticism.
You have to show at least some attacking intent, even when setting up for a defensive performance.

I for one, am glad that Lowe has gone. I'm willing to get behind PH and see how it goes in the next couple of transfer windows. For me, the common factor between the last few managers and the team struggling is Peter Ridsdale. The sooner that he leaves the club, the better. In fact the sooner the Hemmings family back the team or sell the club, the better. I for one would love to see the team in the top division of English football, even if it's just for one season. Burnley have become a yo-yo team, why can't we?

Marginally. With mediocre players.
I thought the duo of McCall and him would have more verve. But I guess there’s only so much you can do with the card he has been dealt.

Important window for everyone. The squad is Div1 standard and we are 5 points away from finding that out on current form.

PH said we were going to tighten up away from home and took a point from an intimidating away place under a new gaffer.

Theres a reason Lowie became afraid and hopefully PH will continue to find a better balance between attack and defence.

Specifically today, I'm not sure Keane is doing enough but Ledson did well and earned his recall.

The new LB may help us get on the front foot more.

Hated lowes negative tactics & lack of attacking play...no change there I'm afraid there is only.1 big difference between them RL& PH RL teams won away PH gives better post match interviews A slight up grade so far but only slight...

Keane hasn't done enough for a while now.
Whether it's a fitness issue following on from the injury, I don't know but his current form reminds me of his first spell with us

oh dear yet another happy clapper accepting of any old shite, PH has done nothing much to improve on what Lowe left him, new contracts for Storey and Hughes, no consistency in team selection, no plan B, no real plan, just boring shite about accepting turgid away performances with NO shots on target against a bottom 3 team, losing a 3 goal lead to the bottom team etc etc etc

Etc etc..👏👏👏 (happy clapper)👍
Also for what it's worth...today was a plan B. He ditched all attacking output and made us hard to penetrate/beat. Probably 1st time since he's been here that he's done that. As I said William let's see where we are come August

is this post genuine? yes there has been improvement, not only the football but the club as a whole has had a lift since lowe left

I think the thread is a genuine attempt at 'discussion', question is, and with respect, 'How genuine is your post'.
Lets be honest, Mr Ridsdale is not averse to either posting on here under pseudonym's or getting 'stooges' to do so.

Whilst the management team of PH & SM are largely welcomed - certainly by me - as a solid appointment, it was by default, as someone apparently spent 'Hours' trying to keep RL.

They (PH/SM) initially tried to inject a different attitude to the Club but have definitely, quite quickly come to realise that with the Players we have in the squad a pragmatic approach is required.
The thread is questioning the change of philosophy from 'not wanting to be bored on the 'side-lines' to 'if that's the attitude we show in every away game, from now on, i will be pleased'.

Personally I get that, up to a point, some however, as is there right are questioning it.

The management Team of PH & SM certainly articulate themselves better, and if things generally are only marginally better, i am thankful for that - but with an out of touch ageing person in control of direction, i really question your assertion that the 'WHOLE' Club has had an uplift.

Yes it’s a genuine question, “The Club has had a lift”, give your head a wobble man, nothings changed, still the shite boring football, still lack of activity in the transfer window, still Ridsfail as our DoF, still slow ageing players given contract extensions when they haven’t merited one, where is this change you speak of?

Intimidating? It was one of the quietest away games I've been too. It was an awful atmosphere.

Luton were awful, we somehow were much worse.

The fact Lowe thought this squad was well balanced and Hecky doesn't is instant improvement.

Of course Hecky is going to say he's pleased we have got barely any points on the road - he's only boosting the confidence of the players.

I take it those who believe his words about being pleased also believe he wants to keep Bowler.

I meant in terms of the aggressive match played on a very narrow pitch. PH pre-emptied this and picked a team capable of battling.

Not the long term dream, but better than a repeat of Pompy or Millwall away.

I'm probably going off on a tangent here, but I see no desire from the top to change things. I get the impression they are quite happy with the 'woe is me' situation (finances etc). Happy to be proven wrong though and they can do that by bringing a couple more faces through the door.

Fair comment, the irony is most clubs would like to have billionaire owners ? 🤷‍♂️

No. The only thing Hecky has going for him is he’s a more personable character than the last two managers.
The football is really uninspiring and boring (yes I know the talent he has at his disposal is limited), he persists in picking his favourites and making bizarre team selections to force fit them in, he seems frightened of flair players (like Mads) and prefers the plodders, you can only assume he sees something completely different on the training ground.
At the end of the day people go on to be entertained and there must be a finite limit to people’s patience.
What I don’t understand is Neil, Lowe and Hecky all claim to be coaches (Lowe had a badge) but how many of our players do you see develop and improve. Potts, for example, seems no different today than when he arrived 6 years ago. And as for our throw ins and set pieces - how can we be so bad at them and never improve?

Is it any wonder the influx of foreign coaches continues ?

Disappointed that things aren’t better obviously but we’re just about keeping mid-table and away from the relegation spots. Under Lowe we’d be in the bottom three so things have improved.

PH needs two or three transfer windows and decent backing from the owners before we can properly judge him.

Today seemed a dour game but I don’t mind an away strategy focussed on being very organised defensively, hard to beat with a chance of a draw or win. Although I’d like to see us with a realistic threat on the counter partly to give us the chance of scoring but also to relieve pressure on our defence by posing a threat to the opponents and pushing them back.

Still confident that PH/SM can build and coach a team here to challenge for the Play Offs given time and backing.

The most boring club in the EFL

Time for action? 🤔

I should hate this vlogger but it's so true it hurts. Problem is this is what the hierarchy secretly wants despite the six month propaganda fluff pieces to local media.

All the momentum that was building up from 2015 up to late 2019 has been spectacularly thrown away. Going to be ages before things are "exciting" as then and even in that time there was a nearly feeling with no top 6 finishes or cup runs but at least you felt the club wasn't that far away from achieving it with an 11 of average age of under 25.

I honestly think a club extension for Ledson will finish me off in every expecting anything again. No offence to Ryan as he's done well in life by working hard but that would be the most obvious rewarding of mediocrity and wanting to stay in a comfort zone you could get from the club so really hope I don't that confirmed thread pop up any time on this forum. Thank him for his SEVEN years of service and politely move him and Lindsay on.
