No one takes a blind bit of notice of the ridiculous nature of the word. He uses it to wind people up but, he looks more stupid than the word itself. It makes me laugh when (the “donation😂) the owners put in goes from £10m to £12m to £15m in the space of a transfer window. In fairness though he can’t use the word “invest” because that is absolutely is not that either.Mods.
Can we please make this word a 2 Week Ban for anyone using it in this context as it is an outright lie.

Yep, pure WUM.
It's the same cycle every time.
Concreterob - "You're all stupid. PSR Rules exist preventing the Hemmings donating more"
A group of people have to explain how PSR Rules actually work.
Concreterob doubles down while ignoring every point put to them
Someone explains yet again how PSR Rules actually work.
Concreterob goes into hiding

Good post all round but particular thanks for introducing me to the word shill.Nothing says "successful transfer window" like the gormless IoM shills popping up with their outright lies about "gifts" and "donations" when the promised "big presents" failed to arrive yet again.
I've made a note it. I like it. I want to use it more often in conversation.
It didn't go on striker, sorry i mean strike did it.I recently "donated" my money to some plasterers for work they did on my house
Exactly this. It’s got boring.Yep, pure WUM.

I had to Google "shill" (what with being stupid) but now I'm educated I will use it as much as possible too. Now to look up "charleton".
It’s a club in South London that hates us.
I agree the word 'donate' should be banned when discussing the ownership.
Preston North End is not, never has been and never will be a charity.
I appreciate the money they put in to fund their business. I fully understand that owning a business that loses substantial amounts of money must be annoying, but its a necessarily evil when running a Championship football which they're fully aware of.
The current level they invest allows us to tread water. That's all. They clearly do not want to put more money in, fine. Their money, their choice.
However the vast majority of the fanbase are fed up seeing other clubs succeed with more proactive and modern ownership. They know this full well, so sell the club to someone that is willing to do this.
Their valuation is mad really, its not really worth anything when it loses so much money. If they sold it to someone 2 years ago for a quid, they would now be circa £24m richer.

Going back 10 years, if we'd have invested properly in the club (cf Brentford, Bournemouth etc) we could well have been promoted and the Hemmings' would've been quids in.I agree the word 'donate' should be banned when discussing the ownership.

The club is like a 1960's Spanish Hotel, owned by a wealthy family.
Once a swanky place that the great and the good visited, a nice place with outdoor pool, sun loungers, en- suite bedrooms, a lift, it was pretty cutting edge at its time and had a good occupancy level.
However some larger financed groups realised that Hotels could make a good return on investment and made nicer Hotels with better facilities such as a gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam room.. you know nicer things.
The old 60's hotel owners didn't keep up and now in 2025 they still have an old hotel with some "rustic charm" such as pictures on the walls of 60's superstars who graced the hotel back on the day, loyal members of staff, who are getting on in years and aren't really up to the job, but what can you do, you can't just replace them with hungrier more effective members of staff can you?
Then you have the occupancy level that is now at 30%, loyal customers who enjoy the "rustic charm" and loyal to the family owners.
The bedrooms are old fashioned, the tiles are avocado in colour and the smell is musty... It needs a big revamp.
All the while the finance group hotel has evolved with the times, renovated the hotel regularly, invested in it's staff, it charges more than the family owned 60's hotel but the guests see value for money and enjoy the experience the hotel has a healthy occupancy of 80%.. it makes money.
It really is simple, invest or sell up.

It's more like faulty towers
Well, well...
Putting aside anything else said in this interview , it is good to hear that there is some truth to what I have been hinting at for the last month.
Whilst there is no link mentioned to the summer budget it certainly indicates a change may be coming.
I am led to believe it is a bit further along that what Peter suggests but totally understand why things are being kept quiet.
