I think we just have to accept that every season we're going to get a few loans in that realistically will go on to bigger and better things.

What we do have to hope though, is that one season they'll actually help us get promoted and then its a totally different situation. I genuinely think this current crop have a chance this season. The league is wide open. Boro are top of the league and the only side they have dropped points against so far is us.

My only major concern is the striker situation. Anything happens to Milly whether that's injury or a ban and we are immediately a much less dangerous outfit.

I suppose so but unless you have a hard and firm wage cap, wouldn't that always be the case?

I think like @aspire mentions, the best players get the best pay and you either need to move with their wage demands or be prepared to sell.

If we want to have or attract top players like Devine on a permanent, this is the price of doing the business. It's then up to the likes of Osmajic and the other contracted best players to justify their potential wage demand increase by pushing us up the table.

I don't think any of this is a serious consideration under this ownership though.
Sadly I think you're correct.

If we haven't got the money to buy him, and pay his wages then unfortunately we can't sign him. It's one of them things that we need to get used to.

We need to consistently scout young up and coming players and continue to use the good relations we seem to have with some very decent Premier League clubs.

We ain't got no moneytree.

I’m sure it was stated at the time that he was on £35k, can’t remember if it was York White that said it or someone else though. Sounds about right for a highly rated 21 year old at a big 6 club to me.

We buy and keep if promoted or buy then sell on for a much higher fee in the window as we have develped him, like wht a lot of European clubs do. No brainer really.

Then you're working off finances from 15 years ago, Prem academy players on pro deals being on £30k a week is common place. He's just signed a new deal as well.
He’s at Spurs not Man U and it’s a contract that Levy organised so no way are they throwing money around like water
