Confirmed Andrew Moran signs from Brighton and Hove Albion

If I was Hecky, after reports of his times at Rovers and Stoke being quite poor, I would make sure his debut was against anyone bar Watford just to break the cycle of "jinxed" debuts. 🤣
Come on Walton , give the lad a chance….

He’s only just arrived.

As per my suggested team for the Pompey game, I think there's a real case for going 3-4-3 at home with the additions of Moran & Lang. Gives us a better chance of stretching teams who put bodies behind the ball, and can easily turn into a 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-1 out of possession.

We can't stick to the system that has seen us fail to score in the last three games at Deepdale, losing all of them... surely....

Devine - Jebbison - Lang
Moran - Osmajic/ Lukovic - Dobbin

PH needs to find a way of beating teams who come to Deepdale and sit back.

We’re pretty good when it’s us doing the sitting deep/counter attacking and also pretty good against teams who fanny about trying to play out from defence, but we’ve yet to find a way to effectively unlock a low block.

3-4-1-1 When down to 10 men!!

What I’ve seen of the highlights reel he’s direct and exciting to watch with good range of passes. He’s a wily sort of player who runs at people.

I think he’ll do well with some coaching.

Even if he turns out to be shite (hopefully not) then it's still the right type of signing. A very low risk (ÂŁ1m is fuck all for a championship football club) on a 22 year old with 2 full seasons at this level is exactly what we need to be doing.
We could keep him for 18 months, and still potentially turn a small profit on him if he turns out to be just average.

People wanted us to sign Louie Barry on a loan with an option. Moran is a very similar type of player, similar strengths and weaknesses but with better Champ experience and a better injury return
And came cheaper than we'd be able to have picked up Louie Barry for.

Pretty much every football fan says this. Ipswich fans say it about McKenna, particularly after Saturday.

Everyone has said it on here for the last eight years at least.

It's simply harder to beat teams who sit back - that's why they do it, to not concede. Bodies behind the ball, less space in behind, and draw you in to commit men forward and hit you on the break. It's also hard for us as 1) our pitch is awful and; 2) we don't have the funds to have a team full of technically elite players.

This is ultimately what separates those that go on to get promoted and those that fall short - having those players that can undo those low blocks or create something from nothing.

There’s no wonder those types of players cost a fortune and just aren’t in the realms of possibility for us to sign (proven).

What’s interesting, more often than not, a club/team happen to get the right manager with the right set of players and it just clicks.

Looks a competent finisher too looking when he gets in and around the box.

He was probably kicking himself after his last match against Vancouver in the MLS playoffs quarter finals. He had a couple of big chances in that game to score, but he does get into decent positions in the box and makes good runs which is a positive.

Had a very unselfish assist too. Although wouldn't go down as an official assist as Son had to have a few bites at the cherry.
