Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

Think it's time for another update from the club

Just so we know what the current situation is and where wr are at regards to the sale of the club.
said before what sale, the fans have been played wonderfully by old peter, give the fan base a distraction & were looking over there not over here, not one statement has been put out that is provable or disprovable, instead of getting irate at the owners & the saggy bottom fiasco the fans eyes are looking elsewhere to the mythical takeover, weve been played like idiots believe any old bollocks to divert attention from the ownership. why spend a record amount to sell, you dont put a new kitchen in a house to sell it for the next owner to rip it out unless your on homes under the hammer

I think we'll hear nothing at the moment with our league position.

It'd be interesting to see what happens should Zedan & co still want to buy the club if we do get relegated in terms of the IFR. Obviously the price will change & the business plan would have to change also in a different league.

I just feel like because we are SO shit on the pitch right now, that will ultimately lead to them walking away and the whole process of finding new owners starts again.....in league one.

A massively depressing situation.
If we go down, Hemmings will be paying Zedan!
It truly is a depressing situation, down to mismanagement and complacency from the top table

Too busy patting themselves on the back for their perception that we have been ‘punching above our weight’ to realise that as soon as the seasons loans went wrong we would be in big trouble. As you correctly say complacency and lack of desire to improve has stuffed us.
No management that wanted to succeed would have failed to strengthen the defence.

I'm basing the "ongoing activities" on the silence of both parties involved. If the deal had collapsed our non executive Chairman would need to move on to other "interested parties" and that would be public knowledge. Also, our current league position at this point in the season, whilst terrible, is not indicative of where we'll be in May.
I fear the ‘no news is good news’ bit after 9 months is wearing very thin.

The precarious position the club are now in would make any potential purchaser with any intelligence walk away, why buy a nightmare.

Any announcement about the sale falling through would just pile more criticism on the existing owners so perhaps they prefer to let sleeping dogs lie.

Why would anyone want to buy a Championship club firmly fixed at the bottom of the table with a dreadful squad…… the goalposts have moved dramatically.

I will be amazed if this sale goes through, and concerned about the mentality of a new owner wanting to purchase the club in this position.

The current owners have blown it bigstyle.

Why do any of these foreign folk want to buy clubs. Gateshead have just agreed a takeover with some American Investment group.

Looks to me that all this talk of a takeover has totally disrupted the club, transfer window etc. Who been doing what, no idea, the club is rudderless. I can’t believe anyone still thinks a takeover could happen, must admit starting to feel like we sold down the river a bit with all this.

11 years of being pretty crap, 11 years of taking the loyal fans for granted, until this pre season 11 years of not spending very much, 11 years of nearly zero commercial income, 11 years of playing on a pretty knackered home pitch, 11 years of mid to bottom of the table finishes etc etc and the ONE constant is Peter fuckin Ridsdale.
Hires and fires managers, buys and sells players, sorts loans, ignores the youth setup yet struts about as though he owns the place, all this until this pre season and the transfer budget is smashed, new pitch laid only for it to get worse, so surely to god (whoever yours is) any potential purchaser would want this stain on the club removed prior to buying the club, the IOM have failed to sort obvious flaw in the sales pitch.

Why are the IOM letting this continue after the spending spree only 3-4 months ago, surely they could see the damage the previous manager had done yet let him spend a fortune on utter crap then have to pay out again to sack them?

Other than the potential of turning Euxton and Sprigfields into housing estates (and building the Ingol training complex) why would anyone bother???

I do hope some stupid arsehole ignores this and does spend millions buying us though.

My thoughts on the spending is that it was Craig's parting shot?/legacy.
He didn't need the £20m or so from the sale and so was leaving it in for the club.
The delayed sale and the poor recruitment seem to have left him with egg on his face.
Pure conjecture from me.

The only crumb of comfort is they haven't said there is no buyer and it is back to square one.

Does anyone still seriously believe this takeover is going to happen on the back of the past nine months’ shenanigans? No matter how I look at it I just can't see it happening. Maybe I just need a new pair of glasses. Still…

Ah good to hear “ rebuild” making an appearance once again but at North End the works are never completed !!!!!

Have you seen what league 1 is doing/done for the likes of Reading, Leicester, Huddersfield, Wigan and Blackpool all of which have reached the Premiership. Who on earth from within the management of our club is capable of launching a surge from league 1.

Only opportunity for our “well run club” leaving league 1, would be a further relegation to league 2, relegation this season would be a disaster !

I meant with a takeover!

With Hemmings/Riddler still around yes it probably would be bottom half in league one unless Grezza makes 3-4 astute signings in the key areas.

I did mention Leicester as a case study. Ownership that has run its course but they've put an incredible valuation due to the training ground they have so talks will progress very slowly and that will impact on things. If they'd been taken over already I'm sure they'd be right at the top as it just breathes some positivity into the club. Eventually it will happen to this one.

On his performance to date as chairman which includes no sale being completed, no other purchasers in the frame and the club bottom of the league with the worse squad for years I’d say he needs moving on before it gets worse.

Or am I missing something?
Aye, he's stuck like a chuffing Limpet to this Club. Or maybe a particularly virulent Tick.

I feel fans are now completely bemused and confused by the operational management structure within the club that the owners have created.

The current owners do not have a board position.

The clubs face is….

Penrose. Chairman.
Ridsdale. Was chairman.
K. Abbot. Finance director.
Zoe…. Director.
Above paid by club.

Dave Robinson, David Taylor, non exec directors.

So just Penrose and maybe Ridsdale…the others just make up the numbers.

No one to me seems to be ultimately responsible, it’s smoke and mirrors.

Not good enough this Craig Hemmings.

You have to come out of the shadows and take some responsibility.

Your dad would be disgusted.
His dad would probably be at the Stables.

so if he’s still in charge of communication of day to day activities he is in a position to put out a statement explaining his strategy during the last window that left the first team with some gaping holes. I’m sure people would like to hear a bit about how it all panned out
This T/O business is/was a perfect opportunity to release even less of the few crumbs of information about Club affairs to the General Public that what we've become accustomed to.
