Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

I’ve no reason to doubt that the takeover is still going through, at the moment.

However, I can totally understand why doubt is setting in. Equally, if things don’t improve, I expect that doubt to reach Mr Zedan (if it hasn’t already).

There is no way he’s paying the agreed price for a club looking like relegation. He will either renegotiate or if he doesn’t want a league one club he will simply walk away.

There may well be a clause in the agreed deal to account for the potential of relegation at the time of completion.

The irony is that the years of under investment that the supporters have had to suffer may well finally bite the ownership on the backside in a big way.

Correct, but when reading this post, could imagine Ridsfail coming out with the immortal words “be careful what you wish for ?”.

FFP, PSR, are glass ceilings installed by the elite who don't want a usurper eating from their trough. Can you name any industry that stops its owners from investing money to grow their business? As long as the money put in is not a suicidal loan then why should a club be limited by outside factors. I really don't know where the PL is going to go with City. If they continue down the guilty path I can see some sponsors suing them for unfounded claims. If the appeals eventually get to the High Court, PL will lose as the whole investigation is based on illegally gained information which is not allowable in law. Finally, PL has set an example with Chelsea who broke the same rules and got away with an extremely lenient punishment
I guess the counter to that is that nobody is stopping City investing as much money as they want. All they need to do is leave the Premier League and set up a league of their own, with no investment limits.

I’ve virtually given up on the take over happening , the fact it’s taken so long it must be the longest NDA to ever exist. The club or Zedan have left the fans in the dark for far too long . Even a statement saying the takeover is still ongoing or there has been progress surely would not exactly shatter the NDA .
At the moment we are in limbo and I fear going into January with a squad that is nowhere near Championship standard with a forward line that is one of the worst for many years the defence clearly lacking a CB .
We have a coaching staff that are failing in almost every respect with most half decent players we have going backwards, from Iverson , Small and others to set pieces, crossing, attacking the ball in the area and in defence stopping crosses and allowing space and free headers in our own area
Obviously Alexander hasn’t had long enough to try to sort some of those problems out yet .
The problems are also compounded by the fact we seem to get more players injured than almost any other professional football team and have done for years .
Sorry such a negative post but nothing positive has come from the current owners for years infact
since the NDA has come in it’s like they are hiding behind it .
.

Is there a pattern here or is it just coincidence. Some clubs that are being taken over in the past have been really shut on the pitch and been relelgated, its like a refresh. Birmingham,Sunderland, Ipswich(?), Southampton, i think theres more. It seems they reset , come back up and have a go at promotion. Are we the latest club?
It seems to me we are preparing for League 1, tyebsquad is poor, we employed a League manager , we replaced Ossi with Kenny. We bought Devine knowing he will be sold for a profit. Theres not so far to see how we can be a competive champ team this season.

That’s looking like a brave statement at the moment

To be honest, I wouldn't buy any football club even if I had the money.
Why does anyone?
What's the appeal?
🤷‍♂️
Whilst we do love to knock our club and me included there has to be some credit to the fact that we are cash neutral at the end of every season, albeit we wouldn’t be without the owners injection of capital - should we say thanks - probably not, but conversely in the doldrum of a moment we are in it’s a tiny bit of a positive
