Who can remember the times when we would play Downbytheseaside FC on the South Coast for the match to be covered by the local radio station and the commentators to be a couple of Cider Drinkers who struggled to prononunce our lads names let alone thier nown team.

Give me Surf anyday free or not...

Radio Nottingham have professional summarisers. John McGovern does Forest. Can't remember who covers County. There are only 3 teams in Notts though! The other is Mansfield who are in the Conference at the moment
 
For what its worth Surf has come across as being anti Westley from day one.

What I would like to know is why does he call him Wesley? Is it a dig? or just a mispronunciation?

It's getting silly now. I know you are only being supportive and some of the responses to the OP are way OTT but I hope you are not seeking to cast me as a 'hater' of Steve Cowell! (or anyone else for that matter) I don't even know the bloke ffs.

Just to make it clear, I fully respect any fan as totally sold on the club as Steve and - for the record - his offerings on radio lancs have generally been quite listenable and far better than the smart arse fella that gets on my wick if they commentate on Blackpool.

It was just necessary to point out that Surf's obvious dislike of Westley was coming across as someone who was perhaps falling into the unforgivable trap of hoping the club would falter to get at Westley, and to be honest such a perception does not do him (Steve) justice.

I'm glad you have joined in the debate Steve and I hope the OP assists you in some way. It is interesting to note so many people on this board with thoughts on you! Whether they like your comments or not you are certainly not ignored or unoticed!

Keep wearing your PNE heart on your sleeve and as regards Westley, he will either start to walk the walk and we will all be happy or he will just talk the talk and he will be gone! Whichever way it goes, people like us will be here long after the Westley reign is over as a golden era or another disaster!
 
I think its important that Surf pays a penalty for this.. by naming "vegetables" during his time on air. "Wesley is a turnip" etc.. etc..

A "mange tu" exchange of passes !

I'll give him 50 points if he manages to mention "celleriac"

(This has absolutely nothing to do with having a laugh.)

Poor lad...he's not having the best of weeks....Just been called a lifelong Blackpool fan by Chissie on Radio Lancs. Mr PNE kept his cool. Top Professional.

You are correct,so long as he doesnt start the i can see us nicking a goal claptrap ,kiss of death that usually is.
