There are still 111 points to play for, we have only played for 27 so far so, I refuse to throw in the towel yet.

Having said that, given that we lose players to injury regularly my biggest worry is keeping a decent team together. I really hope we bring in a centre back and striker in January (and decent ones).
Good post.
Stay positive, it's way too early to be defeatist yet.
GA/CL definitely have there work cut out but some positive tweaks might make all the difference.
The aim now until the end of the Season is to get to the top end of the mini league of the bottom 8!!!
And that is still doable!

Trouble is on paper it's been a relatively kind start. Played majority of bottom half already and won one game.

In next six weeks playing all of Birmingham, Wrexham, West Brom (they are dipping now but still a massive bogey side down the years), Stoke, Sheffield United, Southampton and West Ham.

That is the run up to Cardiff away on November 24th.

Even in top 6 challenging seasons most would be happy with a win or two and a few draws from those seven games. That return isn't going to do much as would still be below a point per game so that is the huge challenge now for Grezza to change.

I agree with the above, chronic lack of pace and real soft centre in the team which is never a great combination for any division.

That team are absolute crap, no manager can turn it round. We have two strikers, one injured and Keanes replacement is non league level. Its incompetence from the board to start with these options. I know everyone rates him, but Leroy is a massive weak link imo, where was he second half? I was hopeful before the game, but when I saw the team sheet I feared the worst. Just like when we had Heckingbottom! I enjoyed the international break, being back at Deepdale is a chore, I wont be renewing when they go down. Owe, and to see Ridsdale in the box, wearing his suit, makes me feel sick. Absolute dosser.

Leroy is a weird one. Looks the absolute business in the centre of the pitch when in possession. Unfortunately he goes to absolute rat shit in the final third and offers nothing there. He was by far our best player in the first half but totally anonymous in the second. Can't quite work him out but he's the least of our problems to be honest.

The blame for this debacle is totally with the Hemmings and Ridsdale.
It's an absolute disgrace, they have let down the fans, club, and the city.
Yes absolutely -the decision to part with PH should have been made end of last season -new manager come in and made decisions with the transfer money on offer to decide on players he wanted for his style -shocking mess

My take on today's game against Millwall is that we had a good 45 minutes, but my god Alexander is up against it. As soon as the second half started we reverted back to the same negative style of play instilled by Heckingbottom. Leroy and Devine giving energy and Devine pressing well, Callum Lang working hard, and Afire looking good in spells and working hard. But overall, the squad feels disjointed, no cohesion, no balance and not enough width. And there's a real question about recruitment, especially after selling Osmajic and bringing in Kenny. Totally different profiles. And if there's no clear vision or identity 9 games in, it's fair to say where this team is actually heading. There may be good players, but does the squad fit together?

Someone said on FB if GA keeps us up then they need to build a statue next to the Finney one of him.

Obviously tongue in cheek, but if he does it, it's hard to make a case that anyone other than Sir Tom has had as much influence and impact on the club than him.

I'm not shitting my pants yet. I think you are starting to see some other clubs are in trouble. Alexander needs time

As is the usual case with PNE and what we had with Millar. Leroy been the only decent player who can receive a ball and find a team mate teams so start negating that with tactical tweets and that nullifies him and the team. Same happened with Millar, he was our only outlet with pace so teams doubled up on him knowing no one else could get the ball and attack with pace or beat a man

Same old predictable shite Alex Neil had Grezza's pants down
This is what worries me about e GA appointment
Yes he’s talked a good game and got the fans onside (As Ryan Lowe did) but he will be outsmarted by better managers at this level. Hence why I wasn’t happy with this appointment.
We are in serious trouble and we had the chance to go out and get a decent manager yes Keane rejected us but there were other higher calibre managers that could have taken the job .
One game in so can’t read to much into it but from but from what I saw yesterday and the reviews I have from a couple of people that have worked under him. We will be playing L1 football next year.

So in that respect, what has he said at half time to them then?
Just what has he said? because the levels seriously dropped off!
Yeah Alex switched a few things round for them but that needs to be answered.
Fitness levels seem to be a real worry here for me, i'm hoping that the new management team address this quickly.
More movement needed in the final third also. Lots more!
One thing i where i did see the most stark improvement was at least we seemed to want to stop the cross and more a few more first contacts.

The blame lies firmly with Ridsdale and Hemmings. i have tried to remain positive about the job that Pr had done at the club but i am now losing all support and faith in him.

THREE terrible managerial appointments he has made McAVOY, LOWE and HECKINGBOTTOM now he has turned to an ex player who has never managed at this level and has a shit storm to sort out. It was crying out for a Disciplinarian someone like Billy Davies not afraid to upset people.

As fans PR and Ch must have seen that having let go 5 strikers in Dobbin, Jebbo, Keane, Smith & Mulitin then to bring 2 in Erabi and kenny it couldn't possibly work, just what were they thinking? Top that with Erabi isnt good enough and Alex Neil must have been laughing his head off yesterday.

All clubs can't wait to play us as they know its 3 easy points at the present time.

That back line needed changing 2/3 years ago, too slow, lack of concentration and league 1 at best.

The midfield is so disjointed, then up front toothless and no idea. Lang a complete waste of money.

Heckingbottom should never have been in this last window that money should have paid him off , his first season he so nearly took us down and he should have been potted long ago.

Loved GA and CL as players but players don't necessarily become good managers.

At the end of the window we brought in kenny and a midfielder when clearly we needed at striker or 2/3.

The whole set up is rotten to the core, the recruitment set up need replacing then Euell, Murphy and Pollit need to go as well.

One point from yesterday we all know Millwall have 2 giants at the back so as a set piece and attacking coach I would tell my players first of all run the channels and turn those 2 they are slow getting back then when you cross a ball hit it hard and low so what did we do that's it lob it up whiteman style and hey presto they headed every one away, schoolboy stuff but just highlights the incompetence of Murphy & Co they are like the chuckle brothers.

The lack of information on the take over is embarrassing and why is it taking so long if it is going through at all?

the club is in a shambles, I cant see anything out of Wrexham or Brum in fact both 3-0 defeats for me then the Baggies who always beat us, so sad to say it but if it goes that way I wont be going on until it changes

I think PNE were poorer second half and Neil (as he said in post match interview) changed things at half time and we didn’t really respond so your point about being outsmarted is a valid one 🤔.I think also after their goal we produced nothing in fact Millwall were better which is also worrying

Need some draws going forward to start gaining confidence again..
There was definite improvement in our defensive display yesterday 👍
At the other end…we could have played all day and not scored 🫣

Exactly this, way too early to be writing this season off.

The first half performance was encouraging and, other than the first 15 when we could have gone behind, we played good football and sometimes very good.

We are also missing some vital players and in the 2nd half it showed especially with the loss of Clarke who i thought, up to that point, was the our MoM.

One player switched off, for a few seconds, Devine, and suddenly a potential clean sheet was gone. Had we got that it would have been a major boost.

Still plenty to play for and Im not pessimistic as of yet.
