Just started the chemo now. Brave faced it for my partner and my mum who are both in tears, but truth be told I'm cacking myself a little.

I'm on a ward with Jack and Nigel. Both around 80 years of age. According to their boards, Jack can't see and Nigel gets confused. Might be a sitcom come out of this.
New Soap coming soon 😄

Good luck, hope all goes as well as it can. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

1st day completed. Shit nights sleep afterwards though, but caused by my room mates.

I was awoken at 3am by confused Nigel stealing my table, went for a wee, heard a loud bang, came out the toilet to find Nigel collapsed by the bay door with the bin on top of him and 6 nurses trying to get in the room but being blocked by Nigel.

I had to move him out the way, but he was then in pain for the rest of the night and continually crying out in pain.

Then Jack has adult diapers that require changing every couple of hours. He bloody hates being woken up to have it changed though, calling nurses all names under the sun.

Hi there
I heard through the grapevine that you weren't having the best of times at the moment and I just wanted to quickly let you know that you are very much in my thoughts and prayers right now, as are your family. It seems you are very much getting on with things and even managing to add a bit of humour to a difficult subject and time in your life.
i have always enjoyed your interactions on here even if we have never met and somehow felt compelled to drop a line wishing you well so i guess there's a complement in there somewhere.
I have had a word with Mrs Plunge knowing how poor hospital food is and she is currently whipping you up a "nice surprise", last time she said that Melford couldn't walk for a week so heaven knows what you are going to get, regardless we shall despatch Hobson with said surprise albeit i should imagine if its a hot meal it will have significantly cooled by the time you get it, he isn't the fastest these days.
My very best of thoughts and wishes to you and i will look in to check on your progress updates - if you need any motivation to get well soon i could threaten a visit from Peter clutching a pound of grapes and signed Ched Evans shirt

Lovely of you to come back on to write this, that hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated. I really hope you're keeping well and hope for many more interactions once I'm back on my feet/ typing fingers.

That last line is genius 🤣.

Sharing a bay with this fantastically brave Rovers fan. Providing me with superb inspiration and also a good laugh.

If anyone wants to donate to or read about his cause, which is quite a sad story then please see the link below.

I should explain that I got moved beds last night. I'm now in with 2 younger lads who've both got far more serious cases than me and are such strong individuals that it provides me with courage.

What makes it more disturbing is that Rovers have basically done naff all for him.

They refuse to allow them to collect money before, during or after games, even outside the stadium.

They put on a meet and greet for him with a few players, most of whom didn't show and only one of whom donated.

They refused to hold a charity football match for him during pre season and they wouldn't lend their stadium for a charity game that his family organised.

I'd like to think North End would be a little bit more willing to help.
