I'm a tad wary of applying massive extra pressure, but Hartlepool now becomes the equivalent of our World Cup Final.

If we don't start well, score early, win the game by half time, and basically demonstrate we are Champion material, Ridsdale should step down.

Don't worry - Westley will make sure he gets the monkey off his back.😉

I agree with the part I have highlighted. However at Bury we weren't 'adequate' but 'lucky' - in fact it reminded me of the 7 game winning spell under Brown

So you equate 2 brilliant deliveries by Laird and two headers to " luck". Personally I hope we have the " luck" you describe weekly.

Agreed with the Monakana comment, you can judge in the first 10 minutes whether he is going to be up for it or not, just didn't seem at the races today.

Also, my guess is Keane was injured today to not be included at all? Can't say I rate Buchanan much tbh, look much better when Keane is at RB and Bailey is LB.
Buchanan did ok first half, if a full back had a poor game today, it was Wright and I quite like him. He let the guy in to cross for the first goal and his passing was poor.

I thought Buchanan had a bad game today, but anyone can have a bad game. Was it wright that was turned for their second?

Can I ask what you thought he did poorly?
He delivered one of the very few decent crosses into their box first half and I don't remember him doing much wrong defencively.

I just felt he was negative. There were several occasions where we could have gone forward but he chose the easy option. I would prefer more positivity to be honest.

Their budget is higher than ours
how? their budget is based on turnover, a turnover ie gate receipts thats considerably lower than ours....remember all clubs in our league are bound by the 65% ruling are they not?

True, but a rich owner could buy a corporate box for a million quid. This then makes their turnover higher then other clubs with a similar crowd.

It worked really well then, 0-0 at halftime make the changes and get well beaten????

We were poor first half. If we made no changes and lost the game, which was how I saw the game going, people like yourself would have been bitching that we made no subs.

No over reaction from me. We played poor, they played well. We are a new squad compared to their confident, fairly settled squad. I think we've a good squad of players, who love representing our club and back our manager. Im still confident we will do well this season.

Okay, so firstly; hats off to our fans today for not blowing their load completely. There was a few of those sarcastic whistles when we gave the ball away (players will be laughing into their mics next time they praise our supporters) etc but overall it was a nice change. Some guy in the centre on row 24 left at 65 mins, shouting and swearing. Wish he would save his money and breath.

Today wasn't great at all though. We essentially got beat at what we do best. Crawley are a good side, well done to them. Its a tight division, we can't win them all. Tuesday is an important game for us, but more because we need a good performance after Bury became a scrappy win.

The referee was dire today. When decisions go against you, you expect a little bit of dissent, even if you grin and agree with the referee a little bit sometimes. What we saw today was vastly different to that usual vibe. Not to take anything away from Crawley, because they were very good. I expect them to be in the top 4.

what a surprise, billymac in having a dig at westley shocker. It's a bit weird how you complain about posters such as Nobber for "hanging out of your arse" yet here you are again, criticizing westley at any given opportunity. Perhaps you are hanging out of his arse?

The way I saw things, and i sit very near to the technical area on the IP, is that Barker was himself acting like a baby, with very, very, over exuberant celebrations. He was practically jumping up and down when first shaking Dino's hand, and from what i saw, refused to look at westley during the handshake, which is bad form in itself. I'm not saying he was right, but he was clearly baited, and like an idiot, fell for it.

in terms of the match, i was not too disappointed by the performance, but more so that we seemingly got beat at our own game, by a side that where very well organised, frustrating, fast and physical. All credit to Crawley.
