I've Lost It

I've Lost It

Don't have an apathy contest with me lads.

I'm on another thread supporting Heck staying...because I don't want to occupy any brain space thinking of another manager. The less PNE in here the better.

It's March again and, without actively wanting us to lose, I'm already looking at the table and thinking about an Oxford win not being the end of the world because of how it would affect the now Tronstadless Plastics...

Saturday, half way through the game I suddenly lost it and no idea why.
I suddenly felt sort of calm, no aggression, no fire, no passion, no anger and not even sadness
Just acceptance I suppose. I've supported North End since the very early 1960's
Always passionate, ranting and raving at poor results and performances, cheering like mad at goals and victories

Right now I have no real interest, you can call me a shit fan if you like, but I never have been, I enjoyed Bristol City away, I even took my wife.
Wrexham was poor and a hard ride home on a train full of Wrexham fans but that's fooball.
Ups and downs, good days and bad days but somehow, and I don't know how, Saturday has changed me into someone I don't recognise.
Season ticket holder for many years but I just know I won't be going on Friday, I'm not even sure it I'll tune in to watch it on telly.
My intrest has just dissapeared and right now I don't seem that bothered. I hope it returns, maybe a decent performance/result on Friday will rekindle the embers of a sadly reduced fire for the team I've followed for 64 years.
Get a grip man. Grow a pair. It’s only football.

Remember when Craig Brown played 352 and then his Assistant KBD got the gig and immediately went to a Back Four?

United played a variation of 343 and suddenly, Carrick gets the gig and he goes to a Back Four.

Two top well known examples of change being for the good.

Exactly. It’s all this bollocks about tactical trends. Playing out. Long throws. Wingbacks. Copy copy copy 🥱

I know it was all a bit shitty predictable but John Beck sides really was innovative and refreshing.

Give me a trad 4-4-2. Strikers in pairs.

Fk em.

I can echo all of that , Im not quite as long but around 50 seasons and felt very similar to you versus Millwall.
I also might get the shit fan tag , but I’ve no intention of going on versus Oxford , passed the car parking pass on , and I’m going to watch Accy v Cambridge on Saturday, as I’ve made my decision already ahead of next season, intend to watch some non league football and visit grounds I’ve not been to ( only a change of ownership could change that and I’m not even sure that would guarantee renewal ) , sad really but I’ve had enough of North End , apathy has eventually worn me down , will try something slightly different 👍

I decided in the first half of the Millwall game that I won't be attending Friday. I rarely look forward to attending Deepdale, most games are absolute garbage and I never feel proud to be a supporter of this club, if anything, I'm embarrassed. You can't call me because that is how I feel week in week out.

What has annoyed me just as much as the familiar 2nd half of the season capitulation, is the fact that there has been absolutely no evidence of any type of rallying call from the manager or Ridsdale, regarding our now hugely faint hopes of getting right back in amongst it.
They must know how pissed off the fans are feeling right now but lately, Hecky's post match interviews have lacked passion and feeling.
Nothing said about the league position to what it was after the Bristol City win.
It just doesn't get mentioned, even though we are running out of games!
As for the takeover, sorry but I ain't buying the rumours.
The next time the subject is mentioned will be just before their season ticket sales campaign starts, you just watch!
An as for Friday, can't be arsed.
Fuck them!

All of the above. From flying so high, some great games (eg Sheffield Utd) to the return of the turgidity we've seen for so many seasons. Beyond me how this much vaunted group of players can suddenly lose any sense of confidence or togetherness, but I'm really becoming utterly apathetic to it all. Couldn't care less what happens on Friday, I may not even bother going. Btw, I've been a ST holder for over 50 years, seen them reelected when the old Div 1/2/3/4 were in place, stood in the Fulwood end when parts of it were condemned and fenced off. Watched all the playoff failures, but never, ever, feeling so flat as at the moment.

I have been through the same and fully understand how you feel, however, I will be there on Friday despite everything because it's what I have always done and besides that, I can't stop myself hoping, HOPING for a positive takeover.

Friday night we will get a reaction and beat them 3-0. 😁🤞..............................honest!!

The thing about football was that life could throw a lot of shite your way, crappy bosses always on your back etc and come Saturday you could have a couple of pints with your mates, go on the game, jump around a bit, shout a few hurty words at the opposition fans, their players or even your own players, specially the owners.
All the tension gone, ready for the fray again on Monday morning.
Nowadays you come off feeling worse, don't know if it's just a PNE thing but if they gave points for it we would regular Champions League.
