That implies that Hecky's job is in as much jepody internally at the football club as we believe it should be..
If we have the rumoured group of six "Number one" targets lined up, the febrile atmosphere around the manager's position surely jeopardise things.
I think we all get how delicate these transfers can be. Players getting counter offers, even at the last minute. Or their mothers getting cold feet. The plans and sales pitch of the manager simply MUST be a factor that players consider when deciding on where to commit their futures. It seems very likely that this new turmoil will tip the balance for one or more of the six.

I understand why people want PH out now but think if we sack him now it will cause more damage then good. Let’s just say we sack him now Who so we get in? It will take about 2 weeks for this hierarchy to appoint a new manager and with just over a week of the transfer window left all signings will be made by the club and not manager. Another Okkels situation.
Once the new manager is in it will then take another few weeks for him to work out his best team and his tactics.
As others have said he should have been sacked at the end of the season but unfortunately he’s still here.
He gets till the international break to turn things around but he’s not helping himself playing the 3 tits at the back.

I think we should get Sam allardyce
The current incumbent still doesn't know the answer to either of those.Once the new manager is in it will then take another few weeks for him to work out his best team and his tactics.
He has until the international break at the latest for me personally, though I'm not a fan as it is and would be exploring our options in preparation if I was Penrose and co.
Waiting until the half way point of the season can often be make or break when it comes to switching managers and it's not something we can afford to be doing, influx of investment or not.

There are a lot who post on here who do not, albeit they watch or listen by other means.Yeah... People who post on a Preston North End forum, don't attend games...
Nob head
Nob head is not called for.
Why bother posting opinion on a forum if you are just going to get abuse.!!

An empty observation which is labelled at every single manager in the world. The current incumbent still doesn't know the answer to either of those.
A manager’s best team at, for example, QPR (A), won’t be the same as what his best team is for Lincoln (H).
Regardless of whether we rate a particular manager, they all put out what they believe to be their best team to get a result in the game facing them.
yeh that Captain of the Titanic was a real one to follow, the crew and passengers must have loved his stewardship!!!!An empty observation which is labelled at every single manager in the world.

A personal favourite when twinned with the ‘he has no plan B’ or ‘picks his favourites’
All meaningless jargon for ‘I don’t really understand football but I do wish we’d win more games.’

Cheers both for the patronising response.
It was more said in jest that anything else but don't let that spoil the illusion that you are both football experts compared to a mere mortal like myself.
Given that the manager is currently trying to play a formation with a squad that clearly doesn't suit it (yet) and he persistence of playing three centre halves who are not good enough at this level, one of which is being played at left back, I would think the idea he doesn't know his best team is bloody obvious.
We still don't have an obvious style or patterns of play or how he is trying to set up.
The most worrying aspect of that is that he doesn't have that many "tough" decisions to actually make at the moment.

If we're saying Heckingbottom needs to go, are we also suggesting his transfers in have also been poor?
If you sign good players, this should in theory help the team win games.
Have we signed decent to good players, but there appears to be motivational issues either from the management side to playing side.
I've always thought, you don't need the most expensively assembled squad to get promoted.
You need a manager who can motivate players, install confidence to play without fear.
Has he been doing that? On current evidence, no.

I have always supported the manager but right now he has lost me. That back line is a joke & his subs are always way too late to get us out of trouble. But for me he is only 50% to blame. We are now seeing the results of years & years of penny pinching & barrel scraping. We are up against some huge clubs with fantastic budgets & this take over needs to happen NOW or I really fear for us this season. It wasn't great before but it's been a lot worse since Trevor left us. I have said before that we may have been better taking the 10 point hit with admin rather than letting him steal the club from the fans. It hasn't done Coventry or Bournemouth or other clubs any harm to have a re-set. It's not that long ago that Coventry didn't even have a ground to play in! God help us!!

How many of the squad were signed under him?!To be fair, this squad is dreadful and no manager could work miracles with them, that said his selections are still mental (especially continuing to play the unholy trinity) and his tactics are dour, but I feel that the club will give him at least till the international break to see what he can do with the team after some more signings have arrived.
I'd lost faith in him a long time ago, but we all know what this club is like when it comes to sacking managers, he'll go, but it won't happen quickly.
?
That is what you need a structure at the club where formations, style etc is recruited for. Thst way if a manager doesn’t work out the new one who comes in doesn’t need to rip everything up. Letting the manager pick and choose all signing just leads to overhauls each time they leave which would happen if PH signs players he wants and we are still rubbish the new guy will come in and go I don’t want X,Y,Z who signed last weekI understand why people want PH out now but think if we sack him now it will cause more damage then good. I voted for wait until January. Not because that's what I would favour, more because that's what I think the club will do.
I can understand all the clamour for his head, the timing of any departure is every bit as important as whoever comes in to replace him. I hope things can be turned around but I rather doubt they will be.

After yesterday I feel like I've switched off till he goes. I've no confidence in him in any aspect of management.
Tactically there's no plan, picking players out of position to play a formation rarely tried in pre season.
Coaching wise no player has improved since he's been here. Thierry small looks a shadow of the player who came here last season.
Transfer wise spent a fortune compared to other managers, especially on lang who seems to be average at best, doesn't seem to start offiah that often
Even bringing in a reported 6 new players, I have no confidence in him getting the right players for the right positions.
