If I was Craig, I’d put Penfold in charge to sack PR and PH and let him decide on our new manager.
Poll Manager Poll
Had time time to reflect and calm down. Still stand by my original opinion he should go ASAP - just can't take much more of the turgid football.
I understand the arguments for giving him to the international break and, being realistic, that's what's likely to happen although I'd like him gone sooner.
Looking at the bigger picture - we've seen a difference in transfer strategy (albeit I wish we had got the bulk of our business done early) and there's indications the takeover is pressing forward (going by the statement last week). Some early signs of change and hopefully that will progress.
I feel the club as a whole has been mired in mediocrity for far too long. Unfortunately, Hecky has been a big part of that - his stats are pretty damning but even putting that to one side, his style of football has, on the whole, been mind-numbingly shite too watch.
I still think we need wholesale changes and I think we desperately need to 'sweep the decks' - on and off the pitch.

Are you talking about Lindsay, Storey and Hughes. 😂It wasn't his fault the ship sank, it was the icebergs.😁
Yeh we could do with a secret agent like Southampton to spy on games and get some wins!!He’d probably bring in Dangermouse as manager.

Very well put , I’m trying to remain positive as it’s obvious to most we need new owners who appoint a competent forward thinking Head of Operations , and to replace the management team , my concern is we genuinely based on what I’m watching / stats could be adrift by the time January comes around , hopefully not but Hecky is not the short , medium or long term answer for me , I would have had him gone at the end of last season but those above are as much if not far more culpable.Had time time to reflect and calm down. Still stand by my original opinion he should go ASAP - just can't take much more of the turgid football.

Loved Danger Mouse back in the day. He’d probably bring in Dangermouse as manager.
His best mate and side kick Penfold was named after John Penfold who was a renowned Victorian Architect who designed the Penfold post box.
Any roads, back on subject........
Truth is, he should have been sacked after nearly relegating us season but last. Shite win ratio, boring football and no improvement season on season.
I can't see it happening anytime soon but Heckingbottom out!!!
Which international break are we talking? . There is one soon I think ( too soon) and one in November which feels about right.
His best team is probably not in the squad yet , so it’s unfair to say he doesn’t know what it is. It’s quite obvious we need at least a centre half and a left back to sort the defence out if we are going to play 4 at the back. No manager is going to make much of what he had available at the back on Saturday.
If the lad Mills joins from Oxford then presumably he has the wide right slot which to me means Devine moves back central and McCann is the one to miss out. I’m not convinced about BUrzborg wide left or indeed Lang as the no. 10 but that’s now down to the manager to prove me wrong as they are his signings. I am impressed so far by Leroy Clarke and Erabi. I expect to see at least one further forward signed before the window closes.
As a club we have been set up for a wing back system with 3 central midfielders since really the end of the Alex Neil era. Looking at the squad now we have wing backs instead of full backs and we are playing central midfielders out of position. This is a legacy of the decision to change system and it won’t fully sort itself in one transfer window.
Watching the Wolves game though, all over the pitch I saw a huge disparity in quality. It’s a massive bridge and it’s getting harder. A Saudi chucking in an extra 20m a year over what we already get will only go so far. Even if we get Pep.

.
Maybe, maybe not. But I honestly think that avoids the point.
My point is simply that our top target players are human - and will pick up on significant supporter unrest, which in turn will bring a degree of doubt in their minds - not least because of how big supporter unrest against a manager is so often followed by the axe!
And while that doubt won't be enough to influence some of our alleged six potential recruits, some might just have their heads turned by a counter offer from a club that appears happier and more stable and where the manager can speak confidently about his plans for their role in the squad.
As I said... I understand negativity but clearly nothing is going to happen to PH in the next week or two and it would be better for the club we support if we were able to honour Penrose's request to be positive... imo for at least a third of the season but, failing that, at least until September 2nd!
That implies that Hecky's job is in as much jepody internally at the football club as we believe it should be.

I am sure he was influential in keeping Devine here, but of the signed names mentioned I think they would come here anyway for the chance of more first team chances. Yday convinced me PH has to go - I cannot stand anymore Peter Murphy set play routinesI understand it - but it's madness hounding him out now.
These calls will already be massively jeopardising our chances of landing key targets in the Transfer market this week.

You think that was all down to the manager? Not replacing Harrison Armstrong was the beginning of the end. Up to that I was pretty happy with what he was doing.
Going to get worse before it gets better I think unless 2-3 top half championship signings can be made in some way in the next week.
I say give him until the international break. He's now had money to bring in a better quality of player and he needs to show what he can do with those players. One thing for sure it needs to be a lot more entertaining and exciting, but especially winning football. If nothing improves, they need to get shut and give a new manager chance to assess the squad before the January transfer window.
You think that was all down to the manager?
No it wasn't. He also sold Mads and Thor very early in that window when squad was getting injuries thinking new signings would turn up soon. In the end nothing happened until last day at which point the play off hopes were realistically over.
From that point it has drifted and performances become far worse. He also knew behind the scenes a takeover was potentially happening so current ownership not really in position to sack him.
There is just drifting element on the pitch now with the same old faces which is dangerous as you can easily get relegated in that scenario so this is where it gets dangerous over the coming months if nothing at the top changes.
He can take some blame, we all saw how great Armstrong was but hanging on so long for him. He could off said earlier we are walking away from that deal and moving onto other targetsYou think that was all down to the manager?
You're overthinking it..

Players don't care who the manager is because at every club now, the manager can change in a heartbeat. They go where the offer is best.
So, right now, the only way that Preston recruit better players is where we are the only Championship offer.
If anything, we've been linked with fuckloads of players in the last few weeks; playing devil's advocate you could quite easily build a case arguing they haven't signed because they can see how ineptly the playing squad is being managed.

👏🏻After yesterday I feel like I've switched off till he goes. I've no confidence in him in any aspect of management.
Tactically there's no plan, picking players out of position to play a formation rarely tried in pre season.
Coaching wise no player has improved since he's been here. Thierry small looks a shadow of the player who came here last season.
Transfer wise spent a fortune compared to other managers, especially on lang who seems to be average at best, doesn't seem to start offiah that often
Even bringing in a reported 6 new players, I have no confidence in him getting the right players for the right positions.
I left at 4:25.
I was in the Hart at 4:45.
I’d seen enough.
