I didn't at all, that's your horrendous interpretation of it.
Here is my post
So
Not the last 20 winners, THE 20 winners, 28 times the trophy has been played, 20 different clubs
"Currently" do you understand that word, it basically means "at the moment", "now"?
7 made it to the Prem, so 7 out of 20 clubs achieved 2 promotions since they won the FLT. Some will be unrelated but I don't think it's that far a stretch to link certain clubs success on the pitch to include a success in this trophy. Southampton being a good current example, Swansea another recent one
Not 'to', 'in'.
7 made it to the Championship, well actually that's not true either, 14 made it to the Championship, 7 went on even further. 14 clubs out of 20, 70%.
I didn't say that at all. If you want to be statistically correct, 3 teams won it from League Two, and got promoted the same season.
So that's 17 teams out of 20 winners, achieved promotion after winning the tournament. only 3 remained in their division(and may have subsequently been relegated, Luton springs to mind)
17 of 20 winners, 85%, moved up the league after winning. Probably just a lucky coincidence?
What a totally clear explanation...............not!
As some of the winners probably won the JPT many years ago, the fact that at some point in the aftermath of winning it, they happened to move up the league does not necessarily collate to them winning the JPT.
You have proven nowt! A club could have won the JPT in 1985, and got promoted in 1995 or even 2005, where is the proven.............PROVEN..........link between winning a trophy designed for the lower leagues and actually and EVENTUALLY gaining promotion or reaching the prem no less?
It is you poor explanation in your original post that is misleading...........I didn't do the hours of study that you must have done to obtain the information shown in your most recent post.
Your original post stated....."of the 20 winners of the trophy 5 are currently in the prem, 5 in the championship". So no matter which way you cook this, and no matter how many times you wish to come back and either add to or alter your first post, using your figures, of the 20 winners, 10 of them CURRENTLY are either still in the lower leagues of maybe the conference (I don't know as I ain't checking).
So, if 10 of the 20 clubs who have won the JPT are CURRENTLY still in the lower leagues or worse, then that tells me that whatever benefit is obtained from winning the trophy hasn't been sustainable for half of the clubs that won it.
Looking at it another way, clubs such as Southampton and Swansea that you mentioned were probably going to move up the league REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY WON THE JPT.
Like I have already tried to explain, winning the JPT on the way to better things wasn't the stimulus for the better things, it was the other way around, ie clubs started to sort themselves out, started to play better football, and JUST HAPPENED TO WIN THE JPT WHILST ON THEIR WAY TO MOVING UP THE DIVISIONS.
It is so obvious only kids, or people who go through life never admitting they may have made an error of judgement couldn't see it.
Next you will be telling me that if ever Southampton win the European Champions League that it was all because some time back in history they actually won the JPT.
The previous paragraph (about Soton winning the Euro Championship) may seem silly to you...........but I am applying the exact same principle to the importance of winning the JPT as you have done.............if it has led to better things for the Saints, or Swansea, then every tournament they win in the future has to be credited as beginning with winning the JPT.
Clearly that is bullshit. I know it, even if you won't admit it.
