Matchday Thread PNE v The Plastics - 17/02/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

You never invited me to your pie and custard party…….

Mind you , I did get to give the lovely Joan a peck on her cheek…..
Hmm, we shared pie and a custard, if youd have been there there wouldnt have been any for us 😉

Its a good point at the end of the day after being 2 down due to some shambolic defending.

Second half there was only one team trying to win the game but we just couldn't get that break, so take the point and move on.

My only criticism of Lowe which I hope he has himself realised, is that despite him scoring on Wednesday, Millar is FAR more effective on the left than on the right. I get Potts is out so we need someone to play there but for me he needs to find someone else to do it for now and put Millar back on the left.

The repotoire " Sing after Wurthers, we only sing after Wurthers.".
" My chair (electric) is faster than you..sang at Gallagher.
Finale" raise your stick if you hate Rovers ,raise your stick if you hate Rovers."
😄👍🤣
Due to mobility they have a special song for that team with the Tower.
" Fart if you hate Blackpoo ,fart if you hate Blackpoo."
Singing is very limited in case of follow through.......🥴..

The Plastics are not happy with our pitch, apparently a pitch like that shouldn’t be allowed in elite football…..

One clown says that he played on better pitches in the Sunday league, deluded arseholes…

It is shit but it's not like they even attempted to play football today. Biggest hoofers I've seen this year.

Yeah, who were they ??

Someone on the bus suggested that they might have been Rovers fans….

I did look out for people getting on at the Beam & Brycg , have you got a beard and specs ??
That’s me! On the return journey, were you sat in the front seat on the right? I’m actually very shy so I would be conscious of speaking in case I’d got the wrong person!

They weren’t Rovers fans, they were waiting for a 125 and one hadn’t come for ages so they thought the bus was a normal service bus and objected to the fare!

See, they come out with stuff like this expecting to score points over us - then I remember one of those muppets was informed over the speaker system that he'd forgotten to switch the engine of his car off and realise there's an extremely high chance they don't have any clue what they're talking about.

Thick bastards.

If the people around him were covering their ears or fast asleep as a result of hearing about some goals he'd scored a few years ago, then there's your answer.

All I know is that on a pitch like that a certain poster would definitely not have scored a hat trick .....🤣...

An enjoyable day of football. Took in the Youth Team Game where we ran out 5-0 winners. I’m not going to go overboard about any of the young lads, but quite a few are only first year scholars and have time to develop into very good players.

On to the main game. I haven’t witnessed a PNE win in the flesh for quite some time, and although we didn’t win today, I feared the worst after the first 20 minutes, but in the end quite happy with a point, despite that we were the better side in the second half. I expected us to be leggy today, but there was no evidence of that. There were some good performances (no one was brilliant) but we clearly missed Potts. The problem without Potts, we also sacrifice Millar’s effectiveness by playing him on the right. When McCann came on and allowed Millar to play on the left, we were far more balanced and Millar began to destroy their RWB. We could quite easily have won this game in the end, but I came off the game feeling quite content. A fantastic day, and to top it all, I met quite a few wonderful members of this forum. They made this fantastic day, one that I will cherish forever.
