Protest?

Protest?

Imagine if we had signed Archer, Browne, Millar and the defender from Forest. Plus kept Oz up front. But no we have signed - injury prone, injury prone, injury prone, cant hit barn door one, cant hit a barnd door two and just not good enough. No wonder we are in such a state. Who else wanted the players we signed - nobody it seems. Poor Graeme and he hasnt even been given his own backroom staff.

The fault lies at the top, the ‘buck’ stops at the top
You can argue that Lowe and hecky are responsible but they are not, the people who put them there are. They employed our managers, they kept them on longer than they should on both occasions. They sanctioned the funding to be spent on injury prone players. They sanctioned funding to be wasted on players not good enough for this level of football. They sanctioned contract extensions that fans know shouldn’t have been renewed.

They go on about the budget, personally I’ve always been fine with that but not with the wastage created by themselves for not having plans in place. That, is incompetence of the highest level.

I detested Lowe but look at his record as manager and it was actually ok considering the ‘budget’ he had. He was kept on too long, wasting a whole pre-season and transfer budget to walk after one game, but again that is down to those upstairs.

I thought hecky may be the answer? I was wrong he wasn’t, he should have been sacked as soon as last season finished after yet another complete collapse from January onward, but again they didn’t. They gave him our record outlay on players which was predominantly wasted on sub standard or injured players, wasted another pre-season to then sack after 6/7 games. Again incompetence of the highest standard

I’m sorry Archie the buck stops at the top, it always has & as much as I’d like to blame Lowe (& hecky) I’m afraid I can’t.

The answer? Well that’s another question but wouldn’t it be nice to see the back of those at the top? At least to start?
I agree with some of this but I take issue with the following:-

SACK THE MANAGER - so who is going to pay him off and where is the money coming from. I can't afford to add to the coffers to get rid can you? no you can't so why should the board do it? We perhaps could have done then there would be no money for signings.

I have questioned them sanctioning these signings of Hecky and not doing due diligence on them but i was told he, Hecky picks who he wants and the recruitment team go out and try to get them, Hecky doesnt tell them how to run the club and they dont tell him what players to sign and who to play etc. I don't agree with this because if this was my club I would be doing due diligence but again i was told it was written in his contract - no interference and he selects the team etc. Ludicrous but there we have it and it has bitten us on the backside

I am with you on Lowe as I don't like his sort and he was typical and arrogant. If he had stayed I think he would have sorted it out in time as he did get players like Millar and Archer.

I agree I thought Hecky might do it but was concerned as he had been sacked a few times, he got Sheff utd prtomoted but off the back of Wilders side and style of play not his. Hecky should have been sacked a lot sooner and at the very least at the end of his second season.

Steve Eyre spot on we are a mid table league 1 side but we have known this for 2/3 years but the hierarchy of CH,PR and IP will not have it and that is worrying.

We can only hope for the take over then hopefully again a full clean sweep across the board from top to bottom but can't see it to be fair.

So who is to blame well they should all shoulder it PR,CH,IP, LOWE and HECKY have all made contributions. The last 3 managers have been disastrous appointments and we are in quicksand and I cannot see us getting out of relegation.

Someone senior at the club is leaking details of employees contracts? Sure.

When I say sack the manager I’m talking about hecky, not GA, let’s get that clear. Apologies if I have written incorrectly.
Hecky should have gone at the end of last season, period, sadly his time was up.
But, he isn’t going walk away, it’s the responsibility of the Ridsdales, Hemmings & Penrose to make tough decisions at the right time, they didn’t, had they of done so there’s a good chance we wouldn’t be lumbered with injury prone players who are not good enough for this level.
Hecky may well have requested them but the higher ups sanction it. You don’t sanction that kind of outlay, which for us by the way is massive, then sack the very man who requested them after 6:7 games or whatever it was giving the new manager the s***show he now faces. That is incompetence from those above the manager.
So as you ask, where does the blame lie? Well for me it lies fairly and squarely at the feet of Ridsdale, hemmings and now Penrose as they are the ones making the decisions. They appoint, they fire, yet when they appoint the wrong ones they never fire themselves..

Thanks for the chat

Protesting when your team is really shit is the worst time to do it. The protests need to happen when you’re doing well on the pitch to show that it’s not just slapped arse fans who are upset that they’re losing games.

As has already been said, a protest at this stage is utterly pointless anyway, they’re trying to sell the club
I mean fans celebrated with the players and manager like we had won the World Cup when we stayed up in 2025.

The chance of us protesting when we are doing well is next to nothing.

Protesting now is pointless. Horse has long since bolted. The fan base doesn’t have it in them anyway.

One benefit to dropping will be that Ridsdale’s position will surely become untenable regardless. If the fans don’t force him out, he may finally come under some internal scrutiny.

Believe it or not, Ridsdale has never been relegated at a football club before. Finishing 24th with PNE in May 2027 is probably a fitting way to end his time in football.

🎵 Hemmings and Ridsdale, get out of our club 🎵
For 90 mins against West Brom, along with 🎵 we want Baxi back 🎵 just to help them understand and remind them that this club does have potential.

I don’t think a single person blames Graham Alexander. The anger is at the last 10 years or so of complete mismanagement by Ridsdale and by the owners for allowing him to spunk their money up the wall.

The recruitment process for the last few years has been laughably bad. The squad building this summer was shambolic. People like to point fingers at the manager in charge, whether it be Lowe, McAvoy, Heckingbottom etc but ultimately only one man has been in charge for that entire period and it’s the fat, ugly dinosaur playing at being a director of football.
Agree with your words. Buy the point I am making is that we all (almost) put in a highly visible effort to rally behind Grezza and Lucketti - trying to help them succeed - which we all need.

But clearly, for some posters on here, that effort was paper thin. Already they are trying to engineer the unrest that should have either happened in the past or happen in the future. I understand (in most cases) it's not malicious - but it could not be more badly timed.

Surely Archer and Millar were totally unrealistic and I’d suggest we never seriously considered either of them. We’re already spending way too much on wages and adding another £60,000 or more per week was never going to happen.

The issue isn’t selling Osmajic - at the stage we’d reached it made sense - it is in fact we didn’t replace him. Of course that’s nothing new.

I suspect we asked the question whether formally with the clubs or informally and quickly found out the cost and we walked away after these conversations

Yeah, but riddlers missus got a new kitchen....

IMHO the only protest that will make a difference is folk not going.

That’s a tricky one though as the majority of the crowd have season tickets & it’s a tough ask for them not to go as obviously they’ve already paid up front.

Sit down protests, singing etc won’t make a jot of difference. As others have said though it does feel like it’s too late now.

With the eve of season statement from Penrose about an acceptable bid having received from a potential buyer and the team having been supposedly ‘strengthened’ the mood was upbeat.
The Bolton game dampened that vibe and what has happened since has totally obliterated any good feeling..
Undoubtedly the mood now is apathy and resignation. We can only hope that a takeover is still on the cards but I honestly have not a clue.

The only protest which would work, would be not going to home games
They would get the message however slightly Catch 22 at this time the team needs our support given they are struggling

Let's have it right, there will be no protests.

Fans have been treated as nothing more than consumers under this ownership and are now conditioned to act purely as customers. People will either pay their money to watch the product and buy the merchandise or they won't. We've been run like Sock Shop.

The club has lost it's soul by cutting off any meaningful relationship or dialogue with the fans, instead just doing that tick box bullshit filter exercise with their carefully selected band of FANnies which is literally just consumer complaints to a line-manager who "will get back to you"

The lack of engagement and distance put between ownership and fans under Ridsdale as worked like a charm. All the years of put-downs and belittling of people's opinions... They knew best and told us so many times over. Now nobody is arsed anymore.

At least the product might be cheaper after relegation. Maybe a few yellow sticker bargains to enjoy.
