I have no issue with us signing Kent , if it happens ( a decent player ). But what is the point in signing another winger when we are at least 2 fullbacks & a centra back short of playing a back 4 & a formation with wingers?
He's the type of player we should have in the squad if we survive this season and release 15 (or whatever it is players). He could be part of a much better squad.
Right now, I'm not sure. He won't make us worse on the field, but our biggest problems are the 3 of the 4 defensive line and the goalkeeper. Midfield and attack with Osmajic back, is good enough with options on bench to survive this season.
However beyond this season I'd only keep about 4 first team players - Osmajic, McCann, Frokjaer and Potts (as a backup).
Not gonna happen though, we will give load of average players extensions.
He has a better knack of being in the right place at the right time than Riis, and tends to just shoot before he's had chance to think, which in strikers is a key skill as the goalkeeper is often not expecting it and instinctive shots don't give a player time to bottle it!

Sinclair was one of the best players when he went up there in 2016 but by the time he came here, in 2020, he wasn’t getting in their team regularly and had lost a good couple of yards of pace.
Kent should be approaching his peak years now. He certainly has the potential to be our best player by a country mile, if he joined. The problem is, how fit is he and, if you’re getting binned off from Turkey, how much of a raging bell end is he?
Maybe it’s just one of those and it hasn’t worked out for him but the club is where it is. It repeatedly puts itself in a position were its bringing players in with a certain degree of baggage. The reason for that falls on the shoulders of one man, for me.

Should we not close this thread down and start a January 2025 list? If we get going Peter might get some Black Friday deals based on our ideas.

Can only hope that the management team are ruthless and dispassionate in their assessment of the players out of contract. There is a case for zero renewals. If Ridsdsle thinks otherwise, well it says it all.
Getting some results between now and January in these circumstances is tough, getting the club to back some replacements just as tough.

I understand what you mean ... but the challenge is to have a competitive squad available for this season and next. We've got so much to do and so little money available to the management team.

I think that's a decent signing if he gets upto speed bit disappointed we didn't go for him after Milly got his ban tbh

Roofe is a free agent, could've been signed whenever.
We can sign free agents, as long as they were free agents before the summer transfer window closed, which is why we couldnt sign someone like Kent until 1st January
