Club Takeover/Investment

Club Takeover/Investment

I would hope and pray that nobody would ever even consider such a thing
said before thats how brighton got rid of bill archer (lived in mellor) he shit his pants & within a month dick knight took over & the rest is history, archer thought he lived far enough away from the fan base, but they paid him a visit when they played wigan away, i believe his begonias got trampled on

Quintessential PNE.
After years in this division we decide to go for relegation when there are 2 extra play off places up for grabs and when there is a potential takeover in the offing.
We sack the manager, correctly, and will no doubt be paying him a handsome amount. We then recruit an old playing hero and give him a 3 year deal, so that if the worst happens it would cost even more money to replace him.
3 games in and results have got worse, hard to imagine that that was possible.
We are not a PROFESSIONAL football club.

Takeover or not, it's too late for this season to be saved. We are down. Rebuild will have to start in L1.

It's a lot more than playing squad that needs to be sorted. I don't care what League we are in, just for the current era to end.
I disagree Keith. It may take a miracle but Norwich City Last season after 17 games were in 23rd place and about 7 points from safety. The brought in Phillipe Clement and got the players playing and they just missed out on a playoff place at end of the season. Whilst it seams very unlikely, I am hoping for that miracle.

So who are PNE bringing in then ? Cos Alexander isn’t changing anything 🥹

This has now gone well beyond just bad.

It’s a shambles and a crisis, we don’t look like we could pick up a point as dreadfully weak squad with no attacking capability goes from bad to worse.

No manager is going to turn this round.

No one is going to buy this club.

And we have silence from the owners, the 2 main players Craig Hemmings and Ian Penrose are silent , Ridsdale who I believe was more or less put on gardening leave prior to the expected but now failed sale is powerless.

The rest of the board are toothless and not responsible for any of this.

Alexander hasn’t got a chance with this squad.

SO WHAT NEXT???????

Our 2 ‘leaders’ have gone silent ….

We desperately need someone in the club to step forward and come clean about how this fiasco has developed and WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT IT ?

Norwich had good players that didn't suit a system.
We have bad players, who don't suit any system and worst of all, lack effort and are mentally weak.

This is the inevitable consequence of originally being put into, "Hemmings administration." Its been a very slow burn but now the flames are destroying the remaining structure.

We are following blackpool to the bottom league again.

We are very definitely not a serious club.

I can see us being dealt nothing but silence.

Hemmings works in the shadows.

Penrose was there to sell the club but that appears to be dead in the water.

Ridsdale I feel has been sidelined over the summer with the sale expected to be completed, just a guess, but he’s been very quiet.

There is no one else within the club who has any significant responsibility.

So do Hemmings and Penrose admit they’ve messed up ?

I honestly don’t know what they can do.

Hemmings can take the hit, clear out Penrose and Ridsdale, get in a new CEO to sort the club out, and put out a statement as to what the plans are to recover from this shambles.

There are 4 or 5 really shit teams in the championship this season, so staying up should have been easier than normal. The unfortunate thing is, we’re a lot worse than the other shit teams.

We can’t see where the next clean sheet is coming from, let alone the next win. We haven’t been this dire for a long time, and to think we spent far more in summer than we normally do. Someone needs to be held to account, and I think it’s time we had some information passed down from the hierarchy as to why we are in this plight.

For GA to have any chance of keeping us up we need a few things to happen.

We need to somehow scab a few wins between now and January and the odd draw. I think this relies heavily on Jonny Kenny being fit or us somehow finding a free agent striker that can come in and do a job.

We'll then need to strengthen in January. A centre half is a must as is two new strikers. Not 'forwards' like Lang, Burgzorg etc. Strikers. Preferably one a big fucker who's dominant in the air.

Edit: Sorry wrong thread.
You don't scab wins at this level.

You grind them out with organisation and maximum effort. We're fucked.

In over 50 years watching PNE I have never seen us so appallingly bad at the level we are playing in apart from maybe 1985-86 and even then we had Gary Brazil and John Thomas in the team who were good to watch.

I hate almost every single player in this squad as they are either past their best, weak willed, talentless or a combination of all three.

I do not expect a takeover any more and I thing we will struggle to avoid relegation to League 2 next season.

The can here is doing some extraordinary heavy lifting 🤣

I suspect I’ll hear from Jesus before any of our spineless leadership sticks their heads above the parapet.

The difference though, was that Norwich had the players.

Unfortunately we changed tack at the wrong time, in recent years we have been heavily reliant on good quality loans from premier league clubs, this was deemed to be wasteful as the money spent each summer was going on loan fees and not developing the squad. So the club decided to sign players we could afford who had potential that they thought they could improve and sell on for a profit. Unfortunately the players we could afford to bring in were nowhere near the same level as the loan players we had been bringing in on loan in recent years and we are now seeing the consequences of that drop in quality. In my opinion we should have stuck with the tried and tested system (as wasteful as that may seem), until the takeover had gone through, when the management and recruitment side of the club would have been totally revamped, and there would potentially have been more money available to sign better quality players to develop.

This sounds like such a pathetic overreaction.

But I agree.
