Hecky will walk!

Hecky will walk!

Yeah, I said as much a couple of days ago.

We are screwed.

T.O. could go on for months.
Hemmings won't want to pay out on PH and Co.
Fans are getting restless by the day.
Do we have any available funds or is the plan to flog Alfie in January to raise funds to stay up?

Grim from every single angle right now.

We need Penn and Teller, David Blaine, Dynamo and Paul Daniels to get us out of this mess!
Might I add Harry Houdini and David Nixon.

Hecky's fault apparently😂😂😂😂 jesus
Everyone knows who is really at fault but to just ignore the problem is a problem itself.

Hecky doesn’t care about getting this promoted. He just wants a job and wants to keep that job as long as he can. Unfortunately with these owners it’s a job for life unless we get relegated.

PH has learnt nothing since last season.

Pre-Season or not, he should go tonight as nothing looks like changing anytime soon with his beloved Back 8.

Don’t worry yourself, according to some pre-season means nothing, it’s all about minutes in legs.

Even though preseason matches have been against lower league opposition and no wins or signs of improvement, we are going to to rip the championship up “throughout the season”, all will come good ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

No one is going to like hearing this, but take a step back and look at the squad right now. Can anyone seriously tell me this squad is capable of playing quality football with a back four?

We have maybe one out-and-out winger, if fit, in Thierry Small and I think everyone recognises he is inconsistent at best (as is normally the way with younger players). We also lack a quality ball carrier in the midfield, maybe Devine but then you're down someone of quality at the top end of the pitch.

In terms of strikers, we have an unknown quantity in Erabi and we have Osmajic who has failed to hit double figures in the league in all the seasons he's been here, is probably at his best in a counterattacking tactic and has a poor temperament.

The defence issues are abundantly clear too. Storey's lack of concentration and inability on the ball, Lindsay being unable to do anything but head the ball away at central CB, Gibson and Offiah not being strong in the air and the former putting in some questionable performances since January.

At fullback, we have Vukevich unable to play 90 minutes consistently game after game and Valentine who's been poor since Christmas.

If you want rid of Hecky, fine, but I want to temper expectations that getting rid of him will somehow turn us into side that will play attractive flowing football. At best, under this ownership, we might play ugly football more effectively. If I am correct, in January it'll have been a decade since the Hugill money. Our decade of negligence just might be catching up to us. Expect it to keep being ugly until the Hemmings have gone.

I wanted to see Heckingbottom get the start of the season after we didn't sack him but clearly I was wrong. Outside of about 3/4 players nobody looked fit and the majority looked overawed by a testimonial. The players may not be good enough but any decent manager gets them fighting and Heckingbottom is not that. I also don't want this to be seen as bed wetting; we look miles off it, Devine the biggest offender but not just him.
From the match thread. Has to go. Zero standards in this team

Doesn't matter what formation we play. We'll be shit in all of them with this squad.

Friendly results do mean nothing. The history of every football team ever suggests they mean nothing. I don’t think there is any evidence that suggest otherwise.

However the state of the squad is what’s important. And that’s a concern and needs addressing ASAP.

Signs of improvement ?
We beat Liverpool in pre season once and almost went down. Getting players in is what’s important and we have failed up to now.

We aren’t going to see signs of improvement when our squad is in a much worse state than last season.

I remember people saying the same thing last season and we went on a decent run at the start of the season. We did bring in Devine, Armstrong and dobbin within that time. That’s the priority now. We need players now but we need quality.

They are part of the overall package though and all things being equal we should be beating league one sides - or at least looking like we should beat them, or (heaven forbid) trying different things. I’m not oblivious to the lack of new players, the standard of those left etc but that is absolutely not a reason to try something different.

We have the obvious big problem of the hierarchy at the club but we also have another (smaller) problem with the management. You don’t ignore the smaller problem because you can’t do anything about the bigger problem.

Results mean nothing but performances do mean something - and we’re not performing.

We've got 15 senior, fit players at the moment.

The issue right now is the lack of players and the club captain saying he's played his last game for us. This type of shit happening is the signs of relegation. Regardless of who the manager is.

If they manage to get decent players in within the next month, and we're still doing shit, then fair enough. But this now, when the squads depleted and he's being heavily criticised for preseason and not trying something new, is a bit silly.

It just seems that all our problems stem from the fact we are in Limbo.

IOM want to sell, think that is correct.
Zedan wants to buy, we believe that to be correct.
It appears that it has taken around eight months for "IFA" to not figure if Zedan has any dosh and if he is or isn't the most upright businessman there has ever been.

None of our "problems" ie manager, players, DoF or anything else can be sorted until the TO is or isn't done, it needs to be done really soon, and even then it won't be all of a sudden a garden of roses.

Can't help but feel it is those IFA or whatever they are called that are our biggest problem at the moment.

Beat a reasonably strong Roma squad 4-1 yesterday
They are at different stages of preseason. Cardiff their last preseason game so will be more intense, and Roma at the beginning of theirs. Couple of comical goals and shite defending.

Still a decent result to get though as still a quality difference regardless.

I have little faith in a manager who still thinks Liam Lindsay, Brad Potts, Andrew Hughes, and Ben Whiteman are good enough for this team.
I’m convinced those who don’t rate Andrew Hughes are just big babies who want a shiny new toy. Perfectly capable player at this level, and has been since 2018.

Gibson was that shiny new toy for a while, until it became apparent there literally isn’t a single part of the game that he does better than Hughesy.

Jesus Christ, you're happy with defence we've got? People just want to see improvement, not the same mediocre players season after season. Dont think that's too much to ask!

Maybe you should've underlined the word " new"
Even Alex Neil when interviewed what seems a good while back now, was surprised that Lindsay, Storey and Hughes were still here, given that they were his signings...........they are still here!
Does this happen at any other club?!
A back 3 that has been here since time began?!

I have no issue with Andrew Hughes. It’s the other defenders I have an issue with including Gibson.

Model professional - to hardly get injured at 33 years old deserves credit. Think he needs more of a back up role this season but if it’s between him and Gibson it’s Hughes every week. Won’t surprise me if Gibson pulls a whiteman in a year or two the rat.
