Tonight this is not a penalty. Honestly it needs sorting.
That is awful!!!

It is just getting worse. I can’t remember it being this bad back in they days of Jack Taylor, Clive Thomas, Keith Hacket, Neil Midgley, etc or has time fogged my memoryThat is awful!!!

How we used to berate those refs for being shit and looking back now they are head and shoulders above anything around these days.Uriah Rennie RIP, Clattenburg and Jeff Winter now seem like a distant memory.
It's only my opinion, but I thought Clattenberg was shit. The other 2 were excellent.Uriah Rennie RIP, Clattenburg and Jeff Winter now seem like a distant memory.
Maybe Clattenburg has found his level finally in his current roleIt's only my opinion, but I thought Clattenberg was shit. The other 2 were excellent.
Someone should hold a banner at the Town End. ‘Referee on watch …’Friday nights ref is Farai Hallam, his only game refereeing us was against Stoke at home last April. He awarded Stoke an extremely soft penalty if I remember correctly. What odds on Sheff Utd getting a penalty on Friday night!
Yes, Rennie was excellent and reffed what happened in front of him. Exceptionally fit and was always up with play, I still think some of the failures to play advantage can be due to a referee needing a breather. It's only my opinion, but I thought Clattenberg was shit. The other 2 were excellent.

He also gave a fair few red cards to opposition players which helped!
I used to do a bit of reffing back in the day whilst I had an injury and we were always told to call the player over to show a card. In my opinion, that helps with the respect and helps show authority.Perhaps it was his physical stature, but Rennie also seemed to command the respect of players. Something that is sadly lacking these days.

The goon on Tuesday didn’t do that, he waved cards around with nobody near him and that even resulted in some thinking Small had got two cards. I’ll go further and say that for players like their number 14 who was cautioned just before he went off should get a second caution because he ranted and raved at the referee like a toddler for a long time. Obviously he’s not the first player to do so but they’d soon stop when second cautions were issued for a continuation of petulance and extreme dissent.
Lovely chap as well. I dealt with him a couple of times in his day job after he retired from reffing. He always seemed genuinely surprised that I knew who he was.Perhaps it was his physical stature, but Rennie also seemed to command the respect of players. Something that is sadly lacking these days.
Maybe. But John Anderson was better. 😁Maybe Clattenburg has found his level finally in his current role
So that explains it, born in Lancashire, obviously a shitpool fan.😡Maybe Lewis SMith had an off day, after all he has a Swan Love rating of 100%

Did 11 years reffing down there Libertine, majority of lads wanted to play the game, some excellent players as well but by christ there was some wrong ones over the years!Remember when they tried moving the ball forward 10 yards for player dissent after a decision? The refs were so weak enforcing it that that lasted about 5 minutes. I honestly think a sin bin (blue card) would work where dissent is concerned. Stood by your fuming manager with your team down to ten men would surely put you off gobbing off to a ref.
Different level obviously but they use it at Penwortham Priory in the 7-a-side leagues and your team mates get proper pissed off with you when they have to do all your running for five minutes.

Certainly quietened them down if they were sulking for 5 minutes out of a 40 minute match.
