So Who Now ?

So Who Now ?

IF Davies was given the managers job (and it's a big if) I just hope our fans are patient.

Remember the 2005-2006 season when it took us until 1st November to win a home game? We wouldn't complain too much about that now, but it's all relative and a lot of people were complaining about Davies at the time! But we went on to finish with 80 points and a play-off semi final with Leeds, before Davies 'did one'.

Just don't expect an immediate turn around, whoever is given the job. (I do think we will see results improve quickly though.)

My wish list is that whoever gets appointed:

Receives the support of fans
Isn't damned because he doesn't have us promoted by Xmas
Is allowed to put square pegs in whatever hole he sees fit
Is recognised as managing a club on 10k gates and losing 750k a month
Is working with what he has rather than our fantasy football team
Isn't criticised because someone doesn't like what the chairman did last decade
Isn't criticised because the owner likes horses
Isn't criticised because someone likes previous managers or chairmen
Isn't criticised because someone on here has a an ego to massage
Isn't criticised because someone on here didn't have the money to buy the club and make the decision to appoint his or her personal favourite because of any of the above prejudices
Gets some stability to develop a team

And in the meantime, I'll wait for the Xmas fairy to arrive with my winning lottery ticket.

Rumour is that Trevor Hemmings was at Haydock today. But there was no racing there today, using meeting facilities perhaps?

Ridsdale's comment on Radio Lancs tonight was interesting, when he said the club has overhead costs more in line with a Championship club and the quickest way of addressing that is to get promoted back to the Championship.

He clearly doesn't want the club to wallow around in this division and neither does Hemmings (despite what some idiots think.) For that reason I don't think the decision on the new manager will be purely a financial one.

Hearing very VERY strong things about BD being already lined up!

As much as I think he is a nob, putting the future of the club first he would have to be first choice.

There's only one thing that Billy Davies puts first-and that's Billy Davies 🙁

Five of the last six manager's have been sacked. Mr Hemmings cannot keep paying for manager's to do buggar all as well as paying for one in situ (not to mention the backroom lot too). Therefore, I would assume he going to go for someone very proven with excellent motivational skills and one who would very likely get us back into the championship. He sure as hell will not take another gamble in my view so, therefore I hope he sees that Billy Davies should be given another chance. I would have Billy managing this club in a heartbeat. If we get promoted his reputation for getting into the play offs proceeds him, and Mr Hemmings may well feel it would be the right time to take a proper gamble at re-couping some of his money and getting the club into such a financial position to make it easier to sell.

Oh I so hope Mr Hemmings is think along those lines, we really, really need to feel the buzz of winning and enjoying a good game again - its been soooooooo long since we did.
