Said we were also looking at a RB from the Premier League. Again, not happened.

Said we were speaking to Lankshear and Spurs like us for loan players. He went permanently to Boro.

We were also allegedly looking to raid Brighton. Not heard of any substantial links between us and Brighton.

Don’t think there has been any substantial links with Kelly N’Mai either.

This isn’t a slagging Sedge off post because the forum would be boring without rumours, but I think, unfortunately, his posts can’t be treated like gospel anymore (which they definitely were a few seasons ago).

I hope everything he’s posted comes true, but he’s been way off it so far.

Probably will get pelters for this but I honestly think the only real ITK about North End currently is Nixon.

This is why these rumour posts need to be taken for what they are. The amount of people who hang on every word and tag them for updates is mind boggling to me.

Absolutely. Not slagging off Sedge or any posters who post rumours.

It’s more the fact posters are gagging for an update when in reality the hit rate of most has been way off it all summer.

Showing an interest is mistaken for it’s about to happen.
Suppose things change in a very short period as well.
Ben Davies was at Celtic to sign and quickly rerouted to Anfield.

Not having a go at you Warton but
- we may very well have spoken to Spurs and Lankshear about a loan but obviously a permanent move was more important to both the player and club?
- again we may have/be speaking to BHA about players but they don’t want to do anything until after they have all 4 of their players who took part in the World Cup come back and are fit before anything happens?
Just a couple of reasons/suggestion for them not happening 🤷🏼‍♂️

Boro got the Rodgers money; therefore, any loan deals for Lankshear went out the window as they pursued a permanent deal very quickly, and no one else would probably match it.

As for the others, he said we were allegedly looking at raiding Brighton, and a name given to him was N’mai, not that we were actively looking.

I think Sedge uses the right wording when providing info, but people just assume it means we are signing them, and when gazumped, say he is wrong. And most of the targets they said we were looking at were probably general enquiries that maybe haven’t gone any further, meaning they probably don’t get picked up by journos. His hit rate is better than most; just think people need to understand how he presents the info.

Like many have said, the World Cup has probably prevented a few movements from occurring as they need some of the players who are available on loan to fill the squad until senior players return.

I’m not disputing that but the point is I don’t think people should be gagging for an update from him and clinging onto every word he says when the only person posting correct info about PNE this window is Nixon.

But I understand people will be upset with that so I’ll take the grief.

Sorry to split hairs, but I'd have these lot in the "kids category".
Ter Stegen on his way out and Szczesny is at the opposite age spectrum.

All still far superior than us however.

Way I see it is what tends to come from Nixon, are ones we can probably assume is actively being pursued.

The tidbits off here could just be names or things that have been mentioned and are maybe on a shortlist and might not even get as far as even enquiring about. Should all be taken with pinches of salt. Certainly not gospel.
